http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/020506/nym173_2.html

Want to Be the 'Fifth Beatle?' Now You Can With Musicplayground's Beatles Edition Interactive Music Product For Windows(R) PCs!

ANDOVER, MASS., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Beatles fans around the world can now rediscover and experience their favorite Beatles songs in a completely new and different way. Thanks to the introduction of a revolutionary new interactive music product from MusicPlayground, Beatles fans can literally play along with some of their favorite Beatles songs without needing to know how to play an instrument. Karaoke-style lyrics allow users to sing along as well.

The new Onstage Beatles Edition from MusicPlayground, available exclusively at www.MusicPlayground.com/Beatles, is a Windows® PC-based software product that makes use of a V-Pick(TM) virtual instrument (USB peripheral) to take over and virtually play the guitar or bass part from 25 songs popularized by The Beatles. Now anyone can be the "Fifth Beatle," playing along with rocking hits such as "Birthday" and "Revolution" as well as legendary ballads like "Hey Jude" and "Yesterday," plus many more. The 25-song Beatles Edition is the first in a series of interactive artist-specific products offered by MusicPlayground.

It's easy to get started by visiting http://www.MusicPlayground.com/Beatles. Using a multimedia equipped Windows® PC, users simply install MusicPlayground's Player software onto their hard drive and plug in their virtual instruments to a USB port. Start up the MusicPlayground Player software, select a song and play along by striking the virtual instrument in time with the on-screen Rhythm EKG (TM) rhythm guide. Song lyrics are superimposed on top of visual content for a total interactive Beatles experience.

"The most popular band in the history of contemporary music can now be experienced in a totally new way," explained MusicPlayground, Inc. President & CEO Bradley J. Naples. "MusicPlayground gives non-musicians the instant opportunity to feel what it's like to play along with the Fab Four."

The MusicPlayground Onstage Beatles Edition features the following 25 great songs popularized by the band:

1. A Hard Day's Night
2. Back In The USSR
3. Birthday
4. Can't Buy Me Love
5. Come Together
6. Day Tripper
7. Drive My Car
8. Eight Days A Week
9. Eleanor Rigby
10. Get Back
11. Hello Goodbye
12. Help!
13. Hey Jude
14. I Feel Fine
15. I Should Have Known Better
16. I Want To Hold Your Hand
17. Lady Madonna
18. Let It Be
19. Paperback Writer
20. Revolution
21. Taxman
22. The Long And Winding Road
23. Ticket To Ride
24. We Can Work It Out
25. Yesterday

In addition to special introductory pricing, MusicPlayground is promoting the new Onstage Beatles Edition with a trivia contest allowing entrants a chance to win a piece of Beatles history e.g., a limited edition lithograph of the original 1965 Score to "Yesterday" signed by Paul McCartney and producer George Martin. The promotion is currently in progress and ends on June 30th.

Headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, MusicPlayground, Inc. is a leading music technology and entertainment company that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Namco Limited of Japan. Founded in 1993, MusicPlayground, Inc. is the owner of five patents worldwide covering real-time interactive signal processing technology that allows non-musicians to play-along with their favorite songs without having to know how to play an instrument.

Thanks for posting this, shyGirl! Yes, it does sound like fun, but I don't think I play well enough to be the Fifth Beatle.
