I was listening to Friendly Fire today and this song really moved me: http://youtu.be/8DLSmWIOTeg Ugh, SO beautiful.

ON AGAIN, OFF AGAIN ( words and music by Sean Lennon)

And just as the sun sets
Just as we will forget these precious moments when another day is through
And just as the moon knows
It cannot always glow through every evening
Some days you will find me sleeping
Cause Iím on again and off again
I never told you I never will
Cause Iím on again and off again
If I canít hold you somebody will
Love is like the ocean forever in motion forever changing never twice the same
You may miss me one day
You may wish you hadnít stayed
You may forget me
You may never let me go
Cause itís on again and off again
I never told you I never will
Cause itís on again and off again
If I canít hold you somebody will
On again and off again
I never told you I never will
Cause Iím on again and off again
If I canít hold you somebody will

Best line: "Love is like the ocean forever in motion forever changing never twice the same..."

I absolutely love Sean and his music. I first saw him years ago when he played the Big Day Out music festival in NZ and since then I've gone to see him live whenever I've been able to. I was gutted to miss his GOASTT gig in London at the end of last year but I was heavily pregnant and not really in a fit state to attend! But I had been lucky enough to see them at a pretty much private gig in 2009.

I've met Sean a few times and as others have said on this thread, he is kind to his fans....in my experience anyway. At one gig when i scored a backstage pass and spoke to him for a while, he was SOOOO nice. He even put his arm around me for a photo...see!

However I won't go on and in to all details of gigs/meetings/tracks I love etc since I've probably already looned out about him on here a million times (but OMG Friendly Fire....WHAT AN ALBUM!).

As with everything and everyone, some people give him a hard time. Some are so critical of his voice and go on about how it is weak. This is not the case at all!! And honestly, if you haven't heard him live, you haven't heard him at all. He's fantastic. And the way people have gone on about him cashing in on his name or trying to be his dad.....if he was into doing that, he's be out recording his dad's songs and doing some tribute show when instead he is doing his own thing.

I used to be a regular on his message board and joined up back in the day when there were very few members. He would post often and it was so great to hear from him and have his contributions to topics that were not only about him and his music but about current events and other stuff. I'm not sure if he still does that or not but I always thought that was really nice of him.

A talented musician and a pretty nice guy.

Lucy, thanks for sharing your feelings on Sean. Love his stuff SO much! Please share your experience! I love details, even if they've previously been shared. Also, do you have a particular favorite album or song? I totally agree about Friendly Fire! Perfect record.

Default Sean Lennon's Music

Thanks Apple Scruff for starting this thread about Sean Lennon. I would like to using this thread if its ok.To post Sean Lennon news updates and articles.About his band the Ghost of A Aaber Tooth Tiger. So that way the thread titled about Sean's performances with his band can just be about upcoming concerts and appearances he will be making at places.I am still catching up on my internet postings. But I will try to get back talk with you guys about some of your postings here.I do agree with you guys on the stuff your both posting about Sean.I think he is talented and I do love his music to.Its been said before. His Dad would be so proud of his son.

" Ultimately, people seem to think that being John Lennon’s son is a huge weight around my neck, but they don’t consider for a second how inspiring that might be, and how proud I am to have this name.”

Thumbs up

Peregrine, of course you can use this thread to post any Sean stuff you want. I'm thrilled to find some people who recognize how awesome he truly is. I'll be seeing him live next weekend so I'm super excited. Thanks for the stuff you posted. I will look at them when home and post about them afterward.

Interesting links. That article with Sean and Charlotte is really cute. I love that he chose "A Day In The Life" as his all-time favorite song. It's not easy to choose a fave song when you're a lover of music, so it must have been on his mind.

I just got GOASTT (I say that somewhat sheepishly)...I couldn't find the CD anywhere, and since I'm seeing them next weekend (w/The Flaming Lips) I wanted it asap. So I d/L from iTunes, and it's really good! My favs so far are:

ēJardin du Luxembourg
ēShroedinger's Cat
ēRobot Boy
ēThe World Was Made For Men

I can't wait to see them live! I've heard they put on a great show.
Apple Scruff, where did you find that px of Sean w/Zooey? Did they record anything together? Maybe she asked him 1st to collaborate for She & HimŅ?

I actually just found it on google, but I believe they either toured together or did a gig together or something like that. I have no clue. I like her, though, very cute girl.

Those are WONDERFUL songs 4iiiis! I'll be seeing them in Ohio as well next weekend. Hope I get some pix! Sooooooo excited (for both bands).

Thanks! Hope you have a great time @ the show As much as I like Zooey, I think Charlotte is a much better match for Sean. In the long run, she is probably more musically talented than Zooey. Sean really needs no one with him, but she has such a sweet voice that it really adds to his already great songs.

Yeah, I don't think Zooey and Sean really did anything notable together. I believe it was a one-off, or maybe even a photo session. I think they respect each other mutually, but I'm pretty sure he has done stuff with Irina Lazareanu and Yuka the most outside of Charlotte. Charlotte and him have a natural chemistry together where you can see their two people who are in love and spend a LOT of time with each other.

Well Apple Scruff, I would have to say these are my other stand-out tracks:

Candy Necklace and Dark Matter, White Noise

really though, the entire album sounds great, it's very laid-back (not a driving CD lol)..and that's ok, but I can't wait for an 'electric' version of GOASTT ;-)
