Default Color Photos from A Hard Day's Night?

Were any color photos taken during the filming of A Hard Day's Night? There must be but I can't remember ever seeing any.

I think I have some, let me look in my folders and I'll also search for some more photos.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you questioning whether that's actually from a deleted scene or not? Or are you commenting on Paul's expression? Or do you mean "curious" as in "cute"?

xD I apologize for the confusion. I'm just incredibly curious what the scene was about, seeing the broken window and all, and the look on his face.

The boys were just poking 'round a railway station that had all these old, broken-down trains. Looking cute and silly...

I apologize for the late posting, but here are all the pictures I could find on my hard drive. A couple are from the promo trailer that was shot.

I'll post more if I can find some new pictures. Also, thanks for the photos you posted, Maia.

Gorgeous lobby cards, wish there has been a way to get a hold of some of them way back when, they were all reserved for the theater owners/worker's family members :^(

I had no idea that the "gang signs" photo was originally a lobby card. You learn something new every day here! And although I love AHDN I often wish the budget had stretched to the use of colour film.

I agree, it's too bad they're not being sold, like Yellow Submarine is being sold on the Beatles' store. And the Help! lobby cards are being sold with the deluxe edition.

I agree, I would love to see A Hard Day's Night in color!

the lobby cards do very much look like they have been atificially coloured/tinted from b&w prints..

Would very much like to see AHDN in colour..they have the technology to do it - even authentically but i dunno if Apple or the Beatles would ever do it..i think they like the oroiginal B&W grittiness and authenticty - which is true but it would be great to see, along with deleted scenes..

that was the big dissapointment with HELP! deluxe reissue - none of the delted scenes - Y not?!

Unfortunately, all of the reels of film, deleted scenes, out-takes, etc from both A Hard Day's Night and Help! were destroyed by United Artists early in 1969, actually burned to nothing. Richard Lester went to look for the out-takes in April 1969 and was dismayed to find they were gone.So we will never see them, thanks to some official at the film company wanting to save space to put some other movie cans of film in storage. Until the advent of Home Video in about 1976 it wasn't realized that old movies could ever make a profit, and not until DVDs in 1995 that 'extras' like deleted scenes would be valuable. A lot of movie history has gone forever.

What a damn shame! I suppose it's too much to hope for that a Beatles fan working for the film company purloined the deleted scenes, which even as we speak are in someone's garden shed or attic. Stranger things have happened!
