Default 27 minute long version of Helter Skelter

Does anyone know if it is anywhere out there? Does anyone have a link, and if they do, can they pm it to me? Thanks

It hasn't ever surfaced. I've always heard that McCartney has a safety copy and the master is still at Abbey Road.

More info here: Link

Quote:
The first version was a 27 minute jam that was never released. During the July 18, 1968 sessions, The Beatles recorded this version, which was much slower and much more tame than the album version. Another recording from the same day was edited down to 4:37 for The Beatles Anthology, Volume III. For the album version, recorded September 9, 21 takes of approximately 5 minutes each were recorded, and the last one is featured on the official LP.
According to Mark Lewisohn (I think), the 27 minute version is rather tedious and is much like the take heard on Anthology 3 but lasting much longer... rather aimless.

Of course, we all want to hear it someday though...

It does exist, according to Abbey Road sessions records. To me it's amazing that it's never leaked, along with the "Festival of Light" piece from '67. I guess those two are now the "Holy Grails" of unreleased Beatles sessions.

You mean 'Carnival of Light'. And the ''mama dada'' Revolution 1 - those three tracks last 50 minutes between them... how's that for an album!

Greetings The_Taxman! How are you? I heard about this 27 minute long version of "Helter Skelter" but have yet to hear it. I have read that there were other sections from different takes that were added. It kind of reminds me of THE BEACH BOYS 15 minute long version of "Good Vibrations" from the 1966-1967 SMiLE Sessions.

This is a question for you and everyone else to participate in. Do you consider "Helter Skelter" or the Rocker "Revolution" in being one of the very first early Metal songs? Take care.

Actually a portion of it has been released on the anthology, but the rest remains vaulted. But I am surprised it has not been leaked yet.

How's it going Serena? I hope that the week is treating you well. I am also surprised that the "Helter Skelter" 27 minute long version hasn't surfaced yet. It sounds like another Bootleg in the making. Take care.
