I own the Mono Box. I was very worried that I'd never get my hands on it but I got mine sometime in late October or early November. With some time logged on listening to the phenomenal stereo box before getting the Mono, I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the Mono mixes. I had no reason to fret. In some instances, the Mono mixes completely blew the stereo outta the water. In other instances, it was a complete toss up, yet worth having both mixes to hear the differences between the two. I, like the good Reverend Rock, would say that the mono set is essential piece to my Beatles collection and I would forever regret it had I not bought it.
BTW vcartier, there is ZERO remixing on both of these box sets (supposedly). These are taken from the original masters and just "cleaned up" as they say. Pretty amazing huh?

I just burrowed it from my Uncle and put it on my computer. Cause I have the stereo and didn't
want to go into bankruptcy. Anyway, The only albums I liked were Pepper and the White album. I don't understand Mono. Maybe it's cause I was brought up with everything in stereo.
Everything just sounds claustrophobic. Meanwhile I go online and everyone's got monomania.
I'm glad I have both cause I must own everything Beatles. However the mono won't be getting many spins. Sorry. Different strokes.

Hello;
I was just wondering;inside each cover of the mono box cds there is a paper
cover that is empty alongside the cd that is enclosed in a see through wrapping.
I was just wondering if you are supposed to insert the cd with the see through
cover in the paper cover or use one or the other.I put the one with the see
through wrapping inside the paper sleeve.

The mini paper lp sleeve is just part of the packaging, meant to replicate the original lp release. The rice paper sleeve (see through) is a protective sleeve for the cd itself. You don't necessarily have to use the mini paper lp sleeve. It's for decoration, more than anything.. but it is functional as well. I personally don't use mine.

Correct...but with one song, I have to wonder if perhaps there was a remix-by-necessity, and that would be "Baby, You're A Rich Man" in stereo. It is such a radical departure from any master I've ever heard that I am tempted to think that maybe they went one step further in the process for some reason on this track alone, and actually did a remix.

I was gifted the Mono box about the time I was diagnosed. After my operation I had all the time I needed to listen to it. It made my recovery that much smoother. Earlier here I made mention of only wanting to hear a few titles in mono. Once you hear these albums in the proper mono mixes, it's like being reintroduced to The Beatles. The mono mixes are actually startling in their appeal!
If you see the Mono Box for a good price, grab a copy. It's worth it. Best Buy usually has it in stock, and indeed I did see several copies of it there yesterday while I was in Kingston, NY.
A side note here is I also played the Love CD during my convalescence. The mash up mixes on it are dang awesome!

I got the mono set the day it was released. I actually got the stereo set just recently when I saw it on Ebay w time expiring on the auction and only $99 as the high bid.
I'm still waiting for the vinyl to be released.
