beatles 67-70 (the blue album)
I am very sentimental about this album. Obviously it is a great set of music in its own right and contains some of the best music in human history but I have a personal attachment to this one particular double album.
This is the record that gave me my Beatles education. I could not have been more than 8 or 9 when I first played it. I got it from my dads record collection. I would listen to it on the old record player that I got from uncle in the corner of my room. The record player was on a shelf and there was this tinly little place to squeeze in and sit between the shelf and my dresser. I would listen to that album for hours with those goofy massive 70's earphone while staring at that Beatles fold out picture of them at the gate with the children. I have always found that picture had a strange mystical quality to it and I remember being mesmerized by it while listening. What an experience. Those images and sounds are forever hardwired into my brain. Pleasant memories.

I actually think this was the first Beatle music I bought, along with the red album...on cassette. My boyfriend at the time I went off to college (my hubby now)..used to sing a few of these songs out of the blue...and so I got them to remind me of him

From my dad's collection, too, Matt, your memories connect a lot with mine. These two (along with the red 62-66 one) were my first approaches to Beatles music and I could never get out of that. The selection of tracks for these two compilations was great, and I also remember how strangely amazing I did find that picture.

The 'Red Album' was actually the first Beatles album I ever bought. I had the songs memorized in order. I also found something particularly enchanting about that picture. It's how I figured out what each one looked like.

It was my very first Beatles album ever given to me. I believe I was about 8 myself. I still have that little cassette tucked away for safe keeping.
Pleasant memories are just that, aren't they? Especially when it comes to the Beatles

I don't actually own this album, but I'm really glad the Red & Blue albums were put out. I've got a couple of friends who started liking the Beatles because of these albums. :)

This is the album that got me into The Beatles, my dad had it and I just listened to it one day and that did it, it changed my life as they say.

This album, along with the red 62-66 album, was what made me a Beatles fan in the first place. I was 11 and my best friend and I used to listen to these albums on cassette, it was her dadīs cassettes. It didnīt take long until we were both hooked and totally crazy about the Beatles. Therefore I have a special place in my heart for these two albums, like many of you.
