Default Did you rediscover any particular songs through the reissues?

When I listen to the reissues, there is such a marked difference in many of the songs. Just the clarity and balance is so very different, that I wind up feeling totally different on some songs than I did before. As an example, today I was struck again by Baltimore Oriale. The guitars are so much cleaner, clearer...the way they weave in and out is amazingly detectable, like water flowing along. Oh, yeah, the guitars are so so so amazing! And before, on the original record, then cd, that did not come across nearly so much.

Have the reissues led you to rediscover any songs?

Well, the reissues have led me to rediscover the whole SIE album. While not my favorite album, I've been listening to it quite a bit. To me it's much better. And the Hoagie songs sound great. Your description of the guitars on Baltimore Oriole is perfect. Hong Kong Blues is very striking too, from the opening onwards. It has a really rich sound to it.

Another song is Here Comes The Moon(finished version) I love the demo too but on the finished version you can really hear the guitars and other instruments so clearly. It's just fantastic and blew me away when I first listened to it.

Oh I love Baltimore Oriole, especially for the guitars yeah.

Well I need to think about this, but two come to mind, Here Comes The Moon because of the demo which is a highlight in the Box and also Save The World because I hardly played that one. I like it a lot, but to me there were too many horns in it, but now after having this great demo of it (with different lyrics btw) I reinvented that one.

More to come

Yes! I notice that the Hoagy ones are so rich now! That is the perfect word! I listen to them over and over and anticipate them... before I liked them, but not like this!

Here Comes the Moon is beautiful. I was thinking of a poll Moon vs Sun, but I think Sun would 'win'...still on this reissue especially, it would be a tough call for me. It is so peaceful and you can see George just watching it.

I love the new ending on Unconsciousness Rules! It is extended and the horns are amazing!

One song I discoverd was "Mystical One" from "Gone Tropo", thanks to the demo, I began to listen to the finished version more and I love it. I re-discovered the whole "Gone Tropo" album. From the other albums "This Song" it didn't think much of the song the few times I listened to it from my 33 1/3 lp, but I am glad to have the cd now.

George Harrison: Stays the same, didn't rediscover anything. I had the original cd before, I loved it then and still love the album now.

Somewhere in England" Also stays the same. On "Baltimore Oriale", the sound is clearer I agree, but I always liked the song, I am not loving it more or less now.Still not fond of much of the album, don't like it more or less then before better sounding or not.

Cloud Nine: Stays the same for me also.
Anyway in case anyone didn't know, for a much longer analises of the albums see the reviews I've written.
