whats up with ringo's eyebrows?

yes this is a serious question.
like on the let it be cover, one is normal and the other looks like he trimmed it somewhat:


and in the paperback writer video..
it looks like that..

any info?

I found out long ago (because I wondered & asked about it once myself) it's a gray streak. Just like he has on one side of his head. That Ringo. What an unusual guy, huh? [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
Btw, George mentions it in the Anthology book. He says it made Ringo look like an intimidating "teddy boy". Dear, sweet, loveable Ringo! heehee! Hard to believe... [img]graemlins/laugh5.gif[/img]

Yeah, it's not actually trimmed like it appears on the LIB cover, it's just a gray patch of hair on his eyebrow. [img]graemlins/eyebrows.gif[/img] Ringo's hair started to go gray at an early age and though I'm not sure of the exact year it started, I know he already had some gray in his hair when he met George, Paul, and John. George had this to say about meeting him for the first time (when Ringo was the drummer for Rory and the Hurricanes): "I didn't like the look of Rory's drummer myself. He looked the nasty one, with this little gray streak of hair. But the nastier one turned out to be Ringo, the nicest of them all." Awww! [img]graemlins/inlove7.gif[/img]

Hmmm... ... can anyone find a direct quote on Ringo's eyebrow and tell me the book/video reference?

I do beleive it's a scar (not grey). I've searched this question before and posted the same at my site over a year ago. It seems impossible to find the info. quoted on the net. Another group writes... "Ringo's scar is indeed an interesting story and stems from the Hamburg days and not from a headbut at the cavern that is often suggested but a clash with a tambourine. During Starr Time ( Ringo's solo spot where he'd get to sing standards like Twistand Shout, Stalled on the Lancs and Hound Dog )John Lennon threw him a tambourine which hit him full in the face. Ringo was helped off and taken to a German hospital were stitches were administered. He returned later with a bandaged head and was introduced by George Harrison as Bagwan Starr singing the Sheik of Araby."

This "accident" seems difficult to verify, also.

Does anybody know how he could've gotten the grey streaks? He was sick alot when he was a kid which means he had to take medicine and stuff. Maybe that's the reason?

It could be, but there could also be a genetic factor too.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. I posted a similar question (re: his eyebrow) at my site within the same month & year as the original message here. Good to know, someone else in the world, miles away, wondered the same bizarre thing [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]!

Seriously, it's difficult to find any direct quotes on re: his eyebrow.

I have very, very close up pictures of Ringo's face that proove that he has a white left eyebrow and a large patch of white on the right side of his head
