Ringo recording new album
http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/1210ringonewalbum.html
Mark Hudson revealed that Ringo is writing and recording a new album with the Roundheads. Recording is to begin in earnest in April. There's no timetable for the album's release.

Re: Ringo recording new album
With the recording of the new album set for April of 2004, it will give Ringo (and Koch Records !) time to release two or three more "new versions" of "Ringorma" before the new album comes out.
P.S.: How come there's no "smilie" for sarcasme or cynisme ?

Re: Ringo recording new album
The burning of Ringo-Rama. I make myself an unique special edition, only 1 pressing ever made of Ringo deluxe a cd with bonus songs from Vertical Man and Ringo Rama and other rarities!
But this is supose to be a new album we're talking about, sure Ringo doesn't waste anytime releasing albums.

... actually it's just two tracks of the orginal album, but with x-mas bells overdubded on them.

Re: Ringo recording new album
..... Not to forget the very special Xmas/New Years edition, where beside some cow bells of the Xmas edition, a 2004 new year's message of Ringo is included, so which makes it a really rarity

Nope, I like it
There will be 2 different editions btw, one with cow bells done by Ringo, and the other with cow bells done by Mark Hudson!

Good news about the new album, though.

Just that I (we ?) was wondering just how many more editions of "Ringorama" there will be by the time the new album is released *

Part of me wishes we could send this thread to Ringo himself, just to show him that, despite the fact that we still love him... , his "Ringorama scam" has made him look silly (at best !) and left a bad taste in many of our mouthes...

And this is nothing, you should have seen the emails that FPSHOT and I exchanged on this, for a couple of weeks, about a month ago !

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Not in my opinion. As long as people are willing to buy more "Special Edition"s they will continue to be released. You can hardly blame the guy for trying it, anyhow. I think maybe he hopes that if he saturates the market with all the Ringo Ramas then all the combined sales will equal one smash album. Maybe people will hear the words "Ringo Rama" so much that they will wonder what it is and buy it. Maybe.

Re: Ringo recording new album
Sure but it leaves a bad taste in your mounth when you as real fan buy the album the day it comes out, then just months later it is re-released with some extra tracks. Next time I will wait when buying a Ringo album, see how much he sells then in the fist weeks of re-release, even worse then now probably if every real fan waits.
With all the re-releases I don't think Ringo Rama will ever climb the charts it's to late.
The extra songs are good, but they should have been on the first release in the first place.
And no, I didn't by the deluxe edition of Ringo-Rama I downloaded the extra tracks.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">... or, as much as I like getting my hands on any new material by an ex-fab, if at least he had waited a year or two but to release it only 8 months after the original CD ?

Heck, even the fact that it was during the same calendar year made it look like a shorter time.
So short a time for a re-release... you almost get the feeling that Ringo and/or Koch records were saying:
"Oups, no, waaaaait... we forgot to put three of the tracks on the album" !
In reality, with such a short interval, you think that the "Deluxe edition" was already in the works when they released the first edition...
... and then they'll wonder why people "pirate" music and so on ?
Had I had a computer, I would have done it myself but... then again, I would not have had that lovely video for "Never without you".
Pity they announced the new edition only after I went to see his show in Rama... or I would have brought a HUGE sign with me...
"REFUND MY ORIGINAL RINGORAMA IF YOU WANT ME TO BUY YOUR NEW ONE !"
