Default Favorite Cover, Both Ways

I'm not exactly sure if this is ther right board for it but here goes: What is your favorite cover of a Beatles song, and favorite song the beatles covered. I am not going to make this a poll as I don't know too many, or what people think are the best, but I think it would be interesting to know people's opinions. [I realize the heading sort of sounds like "favorite cover art" and is also sort of confusing so I apologize]

Myself, my favorite beatles cover is Buddy Rich Big Band playing "Norwegian Wood" It is absolutely *incredible*! Definetly a must-hear for all jazz fans, and beatles fans. My favorite songs the Beatles covered has to be..."Twist and shout!"

Oh yeah, Twist and Shout is the best cover they did, hands down. My favorite cover of a Beatle song....well, nobody does it as well as the originals , but the first one that comes to mind is Aerosmith's version of Come Together.

Don't throw rocks, but I think Earth, Wind and FIre did a bang up job on Got To Get You into My life. If only it wasn't in THAT movie.

It's even hard for me to choose the best Beatles' cover. I especially like "Baby It's You," because John does such a great vocal, "To Know Her Is To Love Her" (ditto on John's vocal), "Long Tall Sally," "Crying, Waiting, Hoping," "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby," "Til There Was You," and, oh yeah, that little ditty about twisting and shouting...

Just to pick one Beatles song covered, I choose "Let It Be" by Claudia Linnear. She sings in the Joe Cocker concert film Mad Dogs and Englishmen (great soundtrack, BTW, although "Let It Be" isn't on it). Her vocal, coupled with Leon Russell's pounding piano, makes it sound like an old spiritual. Good, good stuff.

Favourite song the Beatles covered - Twist and Shout...some friends of mine don't even KNOW that is a cover!

Favourite cover of a Beatles' song - Draw between The Wallflowers' "I'm Looking Through You" and Aretha Franklin's "Eleanor Rigby"

not that i realllyy like it, but i think Joe Cocker's cover of "With a Little Help from My Friends" is good because it reminds me of the Wonder Years....and it's hard to pick a favorite, but I really like "Memphis, Tennessee", "That's Alright (Mama)", and "Young Blood" all from Live At the BBC

The best cover they did is without a doubt You really got a hold on me...as far as someone doing a cover of them....I don't have a favorite...but I do have a least favorite...Marilyn Manson actually did a cover of Come Together live on mtv I beleive it was...it was the worst thing I'd ever heard...he really butchered that one.

Twist And Shout is my fave cover the Beatles did, and I love Sarah McGlachlan (sp?)'s cover of Blackbird.

My fave song that the Beatles covered would have to be "Twist and Shout", but I've always had a soft spot for "Anna" and "Baby It's You".

As for the best cover of a Beatles song, I heard Diana Krall sing "And I Love Her" (with a slight variation - she changed the "her" to "him") and it was beautiful!!! And there's a jazz cover of "Dear Prudence" and it was sooooooooooo cool!

But my personal fave would have to be Sarah MacLachlan's "Blackbird"

The best cover of a Beatle song I've heard is Blackbird by Sarah McLachlin! Her voice is so sultry and adds so much to the vocals, plus I dig the acoustic sound of the song.
