The Beatles Break Record With Sixth Diamond Award
The Beatles Break Record With Sixth Diamond Award

The Beatles earned another landmark by becoming the only band to have six albums with at least 10 million units sold in the U.S. The Beatles 1 album passed the mark in April to receive the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Diamond Award.
The Beatles were previously tied with fellow British act Led Zepplin with five diamond awards but now are in sole possession of the top spot. The biggest Beatle’s album in the U.S. remains their 1968 masterpiece The Beatles or the “White Album” as it’s commonly known. That album has sold 19 million copies in the U.S. and counting.

This is great and everything but I really think it is about time Capitol concentrates on upgrading the Beatles' singles now. All of the 1963-1967 45s are still listed with their original 1960s certification ("Gold" which means half a million of sales these days), when all of them qualify at least for platinum and some for multi platinum certification under today's rules. This annoys me.

Since there are two topics about this subject now, I'm going to close this one because it has fewer replies. Thanks anyway, Paul.
