Jane and Patti remembering Cynthia

Does anyone know if they commented about the loss of their lifelong friend?

"I'm just really sad she passed so suddenly...it's a sad time...I hadn't spoken to her for a long time."

Haven't seen anything on Jane.

I'm not sure this is true, But I did hear that Cynthia was stung by Patti's comments in her autobio I assume , that Cyn dressed dowdy sometimes in their heyday in the 60's. I could be wrong. I'm assuming she forgave her long before she passed away if that is true. I wonder if Patti and Jane stay in touch, they are the only two ladies left from that golden time. I respect that Jane have never trashed Paul decades after they broke up due to his cheating. Heather could take lessons from her.

Jane is someone you can respect. Trashing someone reflects poorly on the one whose doing the trashing. Unlike Francie Schwartz who tabled her life after her brief affair with Paul and wrote a sickening and tawdry book of trash, Jane has always comported herself with class. She has a successful culinary career and is an advocate for autism, which I truly respect.

I don't know that she was truly "friends" with any of the Beatlewives, although they might have socialized from time to time. The young woman worked and had her own life going, much to the chagrin of her partner Paul. Pattie dropped her modeling career, Maureen stopped being a beautician, and Cynthia dropped whatever career in art she might have chosen. It was the Sixties, and one was expected to be the doting and supportive wife.

Jane was a bird of a different feather. And more power to her. Classy, beautiful, talented woman who does a lot for autism and other causes. Never tried to cash in on her Beatle connection. I'm a huge Jane fan.

I like that, "a bird of a different feather." Yes, she was and is a very classy lady and inspired some of Paul's most beautiful early Beatle ballads, my favorite being "Things We Said Today." I, too am a huge Jane fan and largely because she stayed true to herself and because of her involvement with autism. Hats off to Jane!

Linda somehow managed to combine her career as a photographer with being the supportive wife but in her case I always felt it was her own decision as much as doing the expected.

Not sure how much Jane had in common with Cynthia except for Paul and John being friends. Seems to me she pretty much broke with the Beatles et all when she broke up with Paul. Supposedly she said in an interview that after Paul started on heavier drugs such as LSD she had nothing in common with him and his friends/hangers-ons. Of course, his affair with Schwartz didn't exactly help.

I have the deepest respect for Linda as well. She was her own person; a good mother; a successful career person and good for Paul. Linda inspired some truly beautiful love songs. She cared about the environment and encouraged others to take up a healthy lifestyle. I think she was a truly good person.

As for Francie, I think she was and will always be a tragic figure. Seriously, I don't know what Paul or any of her other alleged lovers saw in her. At the risk of sounding crude, if I was a man I wouldn't shag her with somebody else's dick, sorry. I don't think Paul would want to revisit that point in his life. I read that she inspired "Why Don't We Do it in the Road" as she allegedly gave Paul momentary relief aka "road service on the road" in a car. Her book is a tawdry bitch sheet that belongs in the bottom of a bird cage.

Good point. In 2001 I saw a documentary on television entitled "Beatle Wives" which was well done and interesting. Cynthia and Julian even gave interviews on that show.

Francie, of music board trollery and flame throwing infamy was also interviewed. Homely as a young woman, age has not been graceful for her. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, her hair always looked like ass. She appears to have tabled her life after 1968. Her claim to fame was unfortunately (for Paul) her involvement with Paul and the White Album. I would never wish her life's trajectory on anyone.
