Default Some Beatleg Links

I'm new here, and don't want to presume. But in looking through all the threads, I've seen people occasionally asking about good beatleg sites. That White Gold one in the other thread here is a good site.

I thought of starting a thread where people could post sites where they had obtained goodies. Also, some sites are "cranky" and people might appreciate help in downloading, or uncompressing their stuff.

Some people are very wary of p2p software and don't want to use WinMX etc.

Anyway, here are a few sites that have stuff to download:

A good site, with many delectables... They generally have an album or two to download as well, sometimes a commercial release, sometimes a boot. Currently they have two Ringo albums. That’s in addition to Beatles and solo songs.

If you substitute “video” instead of “audio” in the url, you’ll get some nice videos.

*Deadman Records, at http://www.geocities.com/deadmanrecords/ is a Macca-only site. It has LOTS of Macca and Macca-related stuff, some of it very odd (eg, his advertizing jingle for Mother’s Pride flour, for Christ’s sake!), most of it interesting main-stream. Even if you’re not into Macca, it’s well worth a visit – or ten: the site is that good! The site is no longer maintained, so no new stuff is going to go up (AFAIK). Some links don’t work - but most do.

*This Polish site, at http://www.beatles.kielce.com.pl/wz_...ction=download, is interesting, as he seems to have out-of-the way boots. Currently he has Ultimate Live Masters. He changes his stuff regularly.

* http://www.yellow-sub.net/ is a French site, a biut overwhelming at first. They used to have a big boot download section, but it seems to have gone off the boil. However, the site has lots of stuff going on, so maybe the boots will get active again.

*Currently for download at http://www.alphabetles.co.uk/ is The Alternative Rubber Soul and a Macca Live album (very good quality mp3s). Doesn't seem to change often, but you can't argue against its quality!

Happy dowloading!

I'm one of those people who have been looking for sites where there are things to download. I dont have any songs on my computer. I only have sound clips. I'll have to check those places out and see what's there...

Thanks Edmund, some sites were already known to me, and the links are around somewhere in this forum, but most of it is new to me.
With the demise of Beatleg.org we were in desperate need for some new download sites, another download site we have used in the past hasn't been updated since November last year, will search for the link nevertheless.

Again thanks, got some donwloading to do over the weekend.

Yes, Legs, The Cupboard was good. But as you say seems as dead as a dodo.

BEATLE E-BOOKS!!

I just remembered an unusual site at http://www.bootleg55.150m.com/ .

It has e-books for download. The Anthology Book (!), Beatles For Sale, Not For Sale, Shapiro's Life of George, etc etc. It's not the same as having the actual book, true, but it's the next best thing!

And if anyone's got any sites for Beatleg downloads, let us know. Some of us are insatiable!!

Thanks, O Tim! (Holy Grail reference, [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] *) I will visit to download soon as it looks good.

By the way everyone, the Deadman site seems suddenly to have all its download links not working. Hopefully, that'll be rectified soon. Sad if that's the end of it.

And surely, people who know good links are visiting! Post your sites!!

BTW, does anyone want the site where they can download all of the Radha Krsna Temple's album that was produced by George? It's a bloody good record!

When I first came across the deadman site awhile ago, not all the links were working either and from what was working I could only download 30 second sample's, so at first I was disapointed with the site, till beatlelover45223 posted a link to it on the McCartney forum, and everything was working and the mp3's were complete. Maybe they are working on it and it will be back up and running again sometime, I hope.

From the first site I am downloading the McCartney tracks now, together with the mp3's from the deadman site, I will be busy burning a McCartney rarities set the rest of the day and upcoming days.Next the alternate Rubber Soul cd.

So thanks again!

Btw I am sure that there are people interested in the Krsna Temple's album, but could you post the link (also) on the George forum, where more George fans will find it.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Very interesting that 1962 interview when they were an almost unknown band, especially the part when Paul says that Jonh is the leader of the group. Ironic, to say the least...

That bit when they interrupt the Tonight Show to announce Jonh´s death is a bit creepy. TV was so different in those days - returning to a comedy show after announcing a death, what the hell was that!?

Nice, except for lack of mp3 format. Don't you just hate real player etc stuff?!

But for someone who doesn't have any of this material, you've given another good list, even if some stuff doesn't work anymore - not your fault.

onosideboards, give more, give everything! Remember, we are insatiable...!!

Thanks Edmund, the Krishna album is quite popular at Crackerbox Palace. Govinda is magnificant, I just played it yesterday.

i'm not familiar with the Krsna Temple's album. is it the album george did with the monks?

Edmund, which had real player format? i'd suggest doing a right click (if you're on windows) and doing a "save as." then you should be able to convert it to wav or i think mp3 with winamp.

http://www.geocities.com/lost_lennon/part_one.htm (from the same guy who did white gold)

http://home.hiwaay.net/~gjohnson/macca3.html (macca wav files)

http://www.geocities.com/terminusjthrenody/index.html (mmt mixes)

http://www.bolivian.com/beatles/realaudio-english.html (free as a boot)

http://members.tripod.com/beatlemike9/sounds.html (beatles ultimedia page...fairly well known yet rarely updated)

http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip...3/ultimate.htm (links from the cupboard)

that's all i can find for now without opening each of my mislabled bookmarks [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yes – that's the album. DL it, and listen to Govinda especially. Very nice.

Some tracks were real format. It's a bore converting real to mp3, that's all. I didn't mean there were no mp3s, just that some weren't. Sorry, onosideboards!

Thanks for the second list: I can heartily recommend people go on a hunt. One of the sites has the long (and only true) version of It's All Too Much – 8+ minutes of it! Fantastic.
