What a storm!!! All night it thundered. One rumble didn't end before the next began. Woke several times. It finally petered out in the late morning hours. Now it's just pouring! So much for finishing up fixing the roof this weekend.
And our mail service has been down since yesterday evening. Not that I can figure why an ISP would schedule email maintenance on a busy Friday evening but they did. However, it wasn't back this morning either and according to their website they encountered unexpected problems after the update. Sounds more like they did a downdate than an update! At least they didn't down the internet connection. This time...

My daughter's been in bed most of the day due to a terrible head cold. Hoping that all this extra sleep will help her.

the nice thing about sleep while you're sick is you at least get a break from
feeling miserable. hope she bounces back quickly!

Having to pull out a wisdom tooth. Ugh! It's been five days, it still hurts and I can only eat soft type baby food.

Had to take my husband to the emergency room today. Luckily x -rays don't show major damage. He needs to rest his leg. They believe it is a severely pulled muscle. ouch!

Glad it wasn't worse, Lynn. Still, a muscled pulled that badly... Ouch! is right! Hope he gets better soon! And isn't too bad a patient - for a man!

The one day we decide to take my boyfriend's son (who's on a 10 day leave from the military) to a Cubs game is the one day it decides to rain all day. Grrrr.

And it rained for forty days and forty nights. Well, not really. It only lasted for a little over four hours but the amount coming down was enough to turn my garden into a lake, back up the town's water mains and flood our basement almost two feet deep in water. Worst thunder storm I can ever recall in my life! Luckily we didn't get any sewage in but some of our neighbors were less fortunate. Cleaning job still going on but it's the weekend, this is a small community and all the waste facilities are closed and the containers full to overflow. So we're taking a little rest right now and start up again bright and early tomorrow morning. Sigh!

Summer is a pain in the ass and has outstayed its welcome. We need rain!
