Musician Resources
Perhaps one of the moderators could sticky this. I find much resources for a friend of mine, and myself as well. (I'm planning to go into the music business. Even if I'm terrible playing, I need to learn all I can!)
Here's some of the best.
http://www.rhymezone.com/ -- Online rhyming dictionary. Good for songwriter.
http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/freeware/ -- Hundreds of freewares. (Make sure to do a virus scan!)
http://webchord.sourceforge.net/ This converts ChordPro files to HTML. Good if you do not have ChordPro software, or you need to send to somebody with not ChordPro software.
http://www.wikihow.com/Category:Music -- Many how-tos.
http://www.musicu.com/ -- Much information
I shall post some freeware later.

Here's a few software. ALWAYS VIRUS SCAN BEFORE INSTALLING!
VersePerfect which is a freeware rhyming dictionary. It also has a word processor to write lyrics RIGHT IN THE PROGRAM.
PowerTab which is guitar and bass tab editor.
Audacity, open source audio editor, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You can also install plugins that let you do really coole ffects.
Notation Player This convert MIDI files to sheet music. It is really fun to load multi-track Beatles MIDIs and watch how they fit together.

any resource for musicians are fine.
If you have MIDI files, which are easy to find online, you use freeware program called Notation Player to transcribe it to the sheet music.
Of course it only helps if you know sheet music.

Hello fellow guitarists... slightly off-topic, but for any total beginners at guitar, you might find this useful to develop proper left-hand hand position for playing open chords - usually a real stumbling block for new guitarists in the first weeks of learning!
Invented by a mate of mine who's a guitar teacher!
Here it is ---->>> Guitar hand trainer

oh, and also, heres a resource i use like everyday for guitar. its amazing. you have no idea how much help simple tabs can be, they lead to strumming, and eventually you can piece the whole song together.
