The following was pasted from the petebest.com site. It's an update for interviews happening durign the California leg of the current tour. Enjoy. If you're in the area, you'll want to check out the band...they really are good, especially if you want to hear a lot of the songs from Anthology 1. See ya.

Hi all...just got these....all are streamed online.

First of all...The Sun Kings are opening for the Pete Best Band on Thursday August 11 in Fairfax, CA at 19 Broadway Niteclub AND at The Kings Head in Campbell, CA. I have seen this band...and they will rock your socks off! Check them out at www.the-sun-kings.com

ALL TIMES ARE PACIFIC

Radio interviews:

Wednesday, August 10 The Sun Kings will be on The Greg Kihn Show at...let's just say...Greg Kihn airs from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m....set your clocks for the first hour! www.kfox.com

Thursday, August 11 Pete will be interviewed for a full hour from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on the Ronn Owens show on www.kgoam810.com

Friday, August 11 Pete will be on The Greg Kihn Show (no definite time....I will update when I check with the guys tomorrow) www.kfox.com

*** Look for an update on the time for the Friday, August 11 interview.

See this link for the details about the new documentary DVD being released in 2 weeks in USA. New interviews, new "never seen footage" and new Paul stuff too, commenting about the role of the "casbah club".

Enjoy. Thanks to the moderators for allowing the post.

I dunno, I dont think what Petes doing is any different than what, say, Bill Clinton does. Leeching off the fact he used to be a president. At least Pete was a Beatle,
President Clinton WAS the president for four years! Good God! He has a right, honor and privilege to do what he's doing.

Pete Best can play all the music he wants, and tour, etc., but he's not a Beatle. He played with them in 1959, quit, came back for '61-62 and was fired from the band. The BEATLES mean John, Paul, George and RINGO.

And let's not forget this: Best filed a libel suit against the Beatles in October 1965 because Starr implied in an interview with Playboy magazine that the band had fired Best because he was a drug user. A subsequent libel suit was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

In the Anthology book, Lennon succinctly summed up his opinion of Best's role in the band: "The myth built up over the years that . . . Paul was jealous of Best because he was pretty and all that crap. They didn't get on that much together, but it was partly because Pete was a bit slow. He was a harmless guy but was not quick. All of us had quick minds, but he never picked that up."

Lennon's opinion is all I need.

PS I just read the moderator came back and closed this topic! Why didn't he lock it? Anyways... I'll delete this if he/she wants me to.

PPS Just one more thing. Stuart Sutcliffe was brilliant artist in his own right and his relationship with John was far different than Pete's was with the 'band.' If Stu were alive his artwork would carry him...not the Beatle name. I have nothing against him personally.

Finally, I am very concerned (hows that for a fast edit?) that a moderator would remove posts...

As a contributor to this board, I have to ask, if someone posts something and doesn't make the edits within a certain time, they can have it removed. I mean, I'd like to remove a few hissy fits I've had. Who do I talk to?

So, when someone doesn't like a response they can have it theirs removed?

As far as I know, GeorgieGirl, this topic never was closed (otherwise, we couldn't post in it). The only reason I deleted pbfan's post was because he asked me to. I prefer not to edit or delete someone else's post unless it's necessary, and I think many of the other moderators feel the same way. Please feel free to continue expressing your opinions about the discussion underway.

I definitely consider Pete Best a Beatle. He was there in the trenches for years, he earned the right to make whatever cash he can off the name and fame.

Nice to know that Mr. Best is getting some royalties. I wonder if he can stay in time these days.

It's all just opinions and I'll stick to mine. Pete Best isn't a Beatle, but it doesn't matter what I think. I'm a small-nano-insignificant fry in the Beatle money making machine.

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you, John, Paul, George, Ringo, and Pete...

Pete Best isn't a beatle but he was a beatle. The same goes for Paul and ringo. They WERE beatles but they are not anymore.

I don't see how anyone can say Pete wasn't a beatle as he played with the group at its infancy and slogged his guts out with the rest in Germany. Ringo joined when the band were almost the finished article.

People have a right to their opinions. OR DO THEY?

Don't take things so personally all the time! People do have a right to their opinion. I say what I want to say and if people don't like it then tough! Say for you - Say what you want as you'll never offend me. Take it easy!

Bloody Hell!! I was trying to be nice to you.

There are a small minority of people here who feel they have the right to give an opinion but the minute someone disagrees with them they feel they are being picked on. We don't all have the same views and thank god for that. How boring things would be then!!!

Nothing likefriendson the Beatlelinks.

Zimmerman sometimes tone is missing, or inflection, and it's missunderstood. If you have an issue with me email me privately.

Everyone has the right to express his or her own opinion, even if it's not the "popular" one. Personally, I think Pete was with the group long enough in Hamburg and the Cavern to qualify as an ex-Beatle, even if he missed out on the rest of their career.

GeorgieGirl, IMO, the people who posted dissenting opinions aren't trying to tell you to stop posting; they're just carrying on the discussion. We can disagree without being disagreeable. I'm willing to leave this topic open as long as everyone stays civil to each other.

I just saw your latest post, GG. Sometimes tone of voice does get lost in a forum like this, but hopefully everything's OK now.

Default All Good

As a writer I understand about tones and using 'third person' such as 'anyone' 'they' them' when there is a particular person a poster is addressing, and I was just trying to be campy and it was misunderstood. It's all good.

Today is my birthday and someone at work gave me this. She drew this herself... I know this isn't the right link to share this but I want to leave on a note that what this board is all about... The Beatles.

PS. Peace to everyone...

I have no problem with you GG and I don't know why you would think that. I was talking in general terms although you posted something and I gave a different opinion. It doesn't matter. The tone is hard to pick up but I was not picking on you in any way.

Happy Birthday BTW

Happy birthday, GGirl. What a lovely gift. If your friend draws George, think she'll send one to me?

Hari birthday and be sure to celebrate with lots of George!

Does anyone consider Billy Preston a Beatle?

Heck, no. He and George were friends who respected one another, but the Pressman was not a Beatle.
