Default Pete Best Band Tour Dates

http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/petebestband.html

Dear All, Petebest.com is proud to announce the dates and venues for Pete Best's forthcoming tour of the USA, The has been appropriately titled

------ The True Beginnings Tour ------,

The Pete Best Band has decided on this name for two reasons:

1. The True Beginnings is the Title of the Best Brothers Newest book.
2. For those of you that have experienced The Pete Best Band live before I am sure you will agree that it was a great experience, but that experience will only get better, for the Pete Best band play songs that you may never ever have heard live before, such as early classics like Besame Mucho, Hello Little Girl, My Bonnie, Till There Was You, Like Dreamers Do, Sweet Georgia Brown & Saw Her Standing There.

As you have probably noticed these songs are very early songs from the Beatles Repertoire, and the bonus of all this is that you will have an Original Beatle with his own band playing all these great songs for you. The Pete Best Band play a set of songs that Pete Best Played on initially from 1960-62, I realise that there are thousands of Tribute Bands all around the world but one thing is for sure, YOU CAN'T BEAT THE REAL THING!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I cannot get excited about anything to do with Best. I'm not sure why people want to have a picture taken with him, let alone pay to have him sign books. I don't consider him any more than a bit player in Beatle history.

The bass player is holding his "Beatle bass" left handed, too.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yes, and none of them look particularly thrilled to be there!

I hope they are more exciting to listen to than they look. But still would maybe interesting to hear.

come on, everyone knows he's worth very little these days, but contrary to what people have said so far in this thread--he did in fact play a big role in the beatle's very early days (the casbah, 2 trips to hamburg).

i know what i'm doing next friday night! maybe i'll even record the show and take pics.

I think he sucks. What a leech.

Best even says the amount was small. As compared to what, I dont know. He cant say either.

I guess I'm in left field here, but I like Pete Best. I thought he was talented in his own right; and even though it wasn't meant to be w/him and the Beatles, he was still very much a part of them in a way. I could be wrong, but I've heard that he went through an awful lot of pain in his personal life since then...if that's true, then I'm just happy to hear that he's doing well and enjoying himself again by getting out there and drumming. I hope he has a wonderful time on tour.

Just a side note: Pete did earn royalties from the first volume of Anthology. Here's a LINK to an old article where he discusses it.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Thanks for the info, Sandra. I cant get passed that even though Best got royalties from Anthology one, (which is just) it also states that Best has not spoken to the others SINCE 1962. That tells me what I need to know. I dunno, I dont think what Petes doing is any different than what, say, Bill Clinton does. Leeching off the fact he used to be a president. At least Pete was a Beatle, which I'd rather be any day! BTW, I'm working on possibly doing an interview with Pete for KOMA when he comes to Oklahoma City next, NEXT weekend. I'll let you know if it pans out.

though I don't have any interest to see his band ( I would imagine they are like any other cover band), I don't deny him his heritage of playing for several years with the Beatles in Hamburg and wherever. I say let him get whatever he can off this.
go, Pete, go!

I agree with L4, Boo and JTAL. It would be interesting to hear Pete's perspective, although I am not in a position now to pay to see his band. Although technically he was a Beatle during the inception of the group, he plainly did not fit in and since he was not part of the group during their meteoric rise to fame, he has since become relegated to "non-Beatle" status. Still, he does have a history as being part of the band.

so just out of curiosity...had stu survived and decided to have a band with klaus voorman presently, would anyone go see them?

my impression is that people simply don't like pete cuz he was kind of a loser. not very interesting. so, if pete was as cool as many of us think stu was, would more of us be interested in him today?
