Only two originals, out of fourteen songs ?

... not quite what I'd call a "mix" of orginals and covers, as it was first advertised...

Default Being for the benefit of Sir Paul

It's that little ol' selling trick, Abcko. Usually employed for best of best of best of best of collections but obviously also useful when pushing standard fare. It's to get the completist excited. My, two whole new Macca tunes! How can you resist?

Cynical attitude.

Like everything, it's everybody's individual choice as to whether they want to purchase something or not. In this day and age of digital media, I'm sure you'll be able to purchase only the two original songs if you aren't interested in the rest of the songs. I'll be interested to hear how the covers sound too, so it really isn't all that important to me what the mix of standards/originals is.

Happy birthday to me.

I liked Run Devil Run. Probably because it was classic covers. Frankly, Paul has been less than inspired in the composition dept the last 30 yrs.

I don't really care about the ratio of covers and originals. I bought "Run Devil Run" because I liked the songs on it, even tho it only had three original compositions. With this project however it's just not a collection of songs I would think about buying had it not been a McCartney project. I am just not into that style of recording. But " My Valentine" has something that made me me put it on repeat a few times, I liked Eric's playing on it. However I also heard the song "Always" and I wasn't fond of that one.

Not sure what I am going to do, in any case I need to hear the rest first ofcourse. I can view this an side project, which I don't always end up buying like "Ocean's Kingdom", or I just get the tracks I like from iTunes. But who knows I will still buy it after it turns out there are still plenty of tracks that I like.
Anyway I don't agree that he hasn't turned out great songs in the last 30 years. After great albums like "Chaos and Creation" "Memory Almost Full" and "Electric Arguments" I am looking forward to his new album full of original Macca compositions.

Got to agree with you, Legs. Paul's not just running on empty these days. Electric Arguments is one of my favorite albums!
