Default Capitol Albums Volume 3 "news"...

This may or may not be 1.) very informative news, or 2.) anything new to some of you. But, for what it's worth...

I just read that certain reliable sources have disclosed that a Volume 3 of The Capitol Albums was given the go-ahead by Capitol several weeks ago.

No mention was made of exactly which albums will be included. So, the waiting and speculating continues. Maybe a Christmas '07 stocking stuffer at this point.

That's all. As you were...

I'm sure that they will be "Yest...", "Rev", "Sgt" and "Magical" - the most boring choice of the possible ones.

"Boring"? I'd say that line-up would be the "Dream Volume 3".

But, alas! Bruce Spizer doubts highly that three of those will be included: Revovler (a total puzzle!), Sgt. Peppers (will be part of the UK remasters), and MMT (absorbed into the UK catalog, although it belongs on a Capitol volume).

The fact that it has been confirmed that we'll get a Volume 3 should be good news enough, I suppose.

Yes...

At the risk of repeating myself, I wouldn't be to sure that Sgt. Pepper's and Magical Mystery Tour will be included. It's not the point of the Capitol set to release the U.K. albums or albums that are widely available on cd's nowadays. Only Unique capitol releaes. Spizer doesn't think that "Revolver" is unique enough to be included, I don't agree with him and I think it should be included, but "Sgt. Pepper's" not. I personally wouldn't mind the inclusion of "Magical Mystery" but I don't count on it.

Yeah, Legs... I've been down this road a few times before, as well. So, I've stopped speculating.

I just don't understand how Spizer can agree that "Yesterday & Today" belongs on Vol.3, but not "Revolver"(!?). As far as Capitol's unique releases are concerned, you can't have one without the other.

I'd say...Yesterday,Revolver,MMT,Hey Jude.
(Maybe Spizer finally convinced Capitol that their Revolver was different.)

Outsiders : Hard Day's Night,American Rarities.

Non-starters : Pepper,White,Submarine,Abbey Road and Hollywood Bowl, which was not exclusively Capitol since it was a worldwide release.

You mean the other way around, Capitol convinced Spizer that their album was different, but then Apple had to agree to.

No,Legs.Spizer wants Revolver but knows it's a weak candidate now that the British version has become the standard. He has to get his choice approved first by Capitol before it goes to Apple.

I don't know why there is even a debate over U.S. "Revolver" at all. I was under the impression - going on the logic created by the first two volumes - that these Capitol Albums releases were being released by year, and that they were to be Captiol's albums by year... not to be picked and chosen from strictly according to someone's whims.

Hell.... "Please, Please Me" - which is part of the UK catalog - is practically Capitol's "The Early Beatles" (or visa-versa). Yet the latter was included in Volume 2.

So who cares if U.S. "Revolver" is the UK "Revolver" sans three Lennon tunes? That's where "Y&T" comes in.

I think they'll be pleased to wrap it up in three volumes.
And my choice is not based on a whim but on choosing the Capitol albums that stand out as being different.

zipp... I was referring to the powers-that-be who choose which albums appear on these Capitol Volumes are concerned. Not Beatlelinks members' views on the subject.

As for which albums stand out as different, "Revolver" is right there. The whole U.S./Capitol 1966 experience has "Y&T" and "Revolver" delivering the perfect one-two punch. Again - so what if U.S. Revolver is UK Revolver minus three tracks?! It's different, and that's enough.

Revolver was in my choice. But I know Spizer has difficulty proposing it.

By the way, don't worry,I knew you weren't putting me down.

Completists anyway want Revolver and perhaps it will be released.

But we shall see will there be the butcher cover. I hope that there will be because that was an awaited response from the Beatles to Capitol.

Revolver, Sgt Pepper, White Album and Abbey Road are long overdue for remasters.

Ok, good. It's hard when you can't hear inflexions in people's voices, or see expressions on their faces. The hazards of cyberspace!

i'm not sure why they would release magical mystery tour again since it's already been previously released in stereo format. i would think they would just release it along with the uk albums when they supposably get remastered. but i guess it woun't hurt to get it out of the way now.

at this point it would make sense of them to release revolver since they already released rubber soul. yesterday and today is like a pathway between both of those albums.

it would be nice if they could release they one thing i'm missing, and that's the beatles story. at this point i'd say that's out the window.

It's true that for fans like us The Beatles Story would be quite interesting, but I can't see it happening, even on April fool's day!
(Where I live it's already April 1st)
