But only in NYC and LA. Hopefully, the response will be so great that it will get a nation-wide release.

If the film is well received it'll be shown in more cinemas, so it depends on the public reaction. Miramax had planned a full scale release, rather like "Grease" ,but according to reports they weren't happy with the way Apple launched "Yellow Submarine", and a re a bit dubious about this launch. However, there is a DVD release planned, so we might see some extra footage as is the norm. Paul had a whole solo section, like Ringo's scene, cut out - so there might be outtakes, we'll see.

I think "Hard Day's Night" is unquestionably the greatest rock'n roll flick of all time. It looks more like a French new wave art film ,than some jukebox musical made (at the time) for exploitation purposes. We have a corny singer over here called Cliff Richard, who churned second-rate twee musicals, and appparently the Beatles made it clear it had better be nothing like them. It also stands head and shoulders above all the Presley efforts, although even his worst efforts are aided by his undoubted charisma.....the Cliff Richard efforts were truly awful second-rate versions of GI Blues and such.

Also, any word on the release of "Let It Be". It's never been seen on TV over here, and i don't know if it was even released on Video. It's certainly not available now. Given the nature of this "Documentary" movie, there are sure to be tons of extra footage - after all, that's all the filmmakers did all day....just stick cameras on them. A DVD release could either edit in extra footage or tack in on at the end of the DVD, it'd be the ideal time to release the pre-Phil Spector "Get Back" album. Or at least bring back the original packaging which included the Let It Be book, which went with the album. They could bring it out at the same time as a deluxe box, with the original boook and perhaps the promo poster.

I'd love to see that movie, it's one of the few things i still haven't seen. Ditto: the Shea Stadium concert !!

At the 99 Beatlefest in the Meadowlands, NJ, the emcee Martin Lewis implied that George was the holdout for the re-release of "Let It Be".

George should re-think on that. Just imagine the revenue he'd receive from video sales alone.
