Paul's surprise concert at NYC school on Yahoo tonight 10/14/2013
On what would have been John Lennon’s 73rd birthday, Paul McCartney gave a surprise performance yesterday afternoon at the Frank Sinatra School for the Arts in Queens.
Initially reported by the Gothamist, Tweets began coming in yesterday from students and faculty surrounding the excitement for the show. There were supposedly rumors about a surprise show happening, but the performer remained a mystery until a few hours before the performance.
According to Rolling Stone, Macca played a 90 minute set for around 400 students in the school’s auditorium. McCartney played a total of 13 songs, taking breaks every few songs to do Q&A sessions with famous New York radio DJ Jim Kerr.
The entire show was filmed by iHeartRadio and will be available to stream on ClearChannel radio stations and online on Yahoo! on Monday, October 14.
