What song do you hope Paul plays for the Superbowl halftime?
There are a few views I have:
1) One thing I do know is that it probably is going to be a rocker/anthem. Slow songs don't fit the halftime that well. So I can almost assuredly say this.
2) He has two choices:
i: He could go the normal route and play one of his "Golden Dozen" or whatever, and pick a song he's played at every single concert all his life. So we're talking about Jet, Band On The Run, Hello Goodbye, I Saw Her Standing There... you get the idea =P
ii: He could try to refute criticizing views of people saying all the Beatles songs sound the same (those people haven't listened to anything but I Wanna Hold Your Hand and She Loves You), and play something a bit more obscure. Helter Skelter would be a GREAT choice, there. A very great rocker that would make everyone go, "What the..."
iii: He could try to bring the whole crowd together with Hey Jude, plain and simple, and have everyone singing, "Nanananaaaaaaa, Heeeeeeeeey Juuuuuude!"
Personally, Hey Jude would be GREAT, and I'd LOVE to see him play that. But Helter Skelter would be a nice choice also.
What are your opinions?

I would love to see him play 'Hey Jude'! That would be so cool. But I would be happy to see him play anything honestly

Even Helter Skelter?
I'd be happy with almost anything, but I'd prefer some good ol' Beatles tunes.

As long as he doesn't play "Freedom", everything's fine by me.

amen to that, darkhorse!
i think "twist & shout" would be fun for the crowd...(even
though john sang lead on this)....everyone would have a
blast singin' & dancing to this one.

He'll probably just do "Hey Jude" or "Yesterday." It would be awesome if the audience expected a song like that and he played something nobody expects like "Spin it On."

Re: What song do you hope Paul plays for the Superbowl halftime?
If it were a stadium full of loyal Beatlelinkers such as ourselves, I'd want Paul to play one of his more obscure - but beloved - songs. But since not everyone at the Super Bowl will know Paul's songs beyond the Beatles' greatest commercial hits, I hope he plays an old favorite like Hey Jude or Can't Buy Me Love; something that almost everyone is bound to know.

I think Can't but me love and I saw her standing there would be fine choices.
Does anyone know how many songs he will be doing?
And who knows maybe he will have a 'suprise' guest

Just as long as it's not Janet Jackson.
I think Paul will probably pick from his usual most popular ten or twelve songs. Hopefully he'll play I Saw Her Standing There, that one would be a good choice I'd like to hear.

Surprise guest: no Justin Timberlake please
Song: Helter Skelter and Hey Jude are great choices and I wouldn't be surprised if he plays one of them on the set...Jet could be a good choice too. But I think it'll be a Beatles tune, more likely, that he will perform.

Amen! I can't stand that song!
I think he'll play Hey Jude and maybe a song of his solo career, Jet could be.

Re: What song do you hope Paul plays for the Superbowl halftime?
It'd be great that he played something obscure, like "Rockestra Theme". It's a great number and it'd surprise all the audience
"Hey Jude" and "Can't Buy Me Love" are sooo overplayed...but it's more likely that he'll perfom something like this. Or "I Saw Her Standing There".

Re: What song do you hope Paul plays for the Superbowl halftime?
Hey Jude, like I said, would be great solely to get the crowd together during the coda.
And in a time with not much peace, that's the best thing we need.

I think he has enough quality songs to play strictly his solo stuff...
