I think the more you know about Beatles history, the funnier it is.

I totally agree. They throw in a bunch of stuff that most people wouldn't get. I watched it before I really got into the Beatles, and thought it was kinda funny..but now it's hilarious!

I've seen Neil several times in Chicago at Fest. He's practically a regular there now.

Eric was doing a comedy tour (was it 2003 Mrs B?). He was just about an hour away. (Dang...)

Come to Chicago Fest sometime! & as for Eric, just keep your eyes & ears open. You may find out what he's doing & be able to catch up with him, too!

Their songs are so great, I mean lots of them are just silly but there are a few of them that are really good, sharp little jabs at stuff. Fantastic. <3

You can check out Chicago Fest info here:

http://www.thefest.com/fest/Current/Chicago/ch.php

There's nothing there right now except the dates, but other info should be up soon. Since Neil just came I'd doubt it that he'd come again so soon (Although I would be the last to complain about that!!) It seems Mark only has Neil there if there's something for him to promote.

Let's see, to my knowledge he's been there in 94, 96 (with Barry & Stig), 2001, & 2008. In 94 I was too young to know who he was and it was actually in 96 that I first discovered who the Rutles were. Although I didnt see the movie till 2001. I didnt get the chance to meet him when I was at the 2001 Fest and I was kicking myself, waiting for 7 YEARS until he came again last year.

Thanks for the link LL9!

Check it out Mrs. M! This year there are going to be more Beatlelinkers there than ever before, too. So we'll have a quick meet up & introduce ourselves & then everyone will go do their thing. But it's just nice to see each other & wave & catch up a bit here & there over the weekend! Maybe even have a Linkers sing-a-long!

AYNIC is an awesome movie. I've watched it a couple times and it doesn't age or anything. I saw the Rutles on my last visit to Liverpool Beatleweek and got Barry and Neil's autographs.

Doubleback Alley is one of my fave Rutle tunes. It's one of the songs on my piano-playing reportoire. That and Cheese and Onions :D

I LOVE the Rutles! I actually saw 'All You Need is Cash" for the first time in 1978 on TV! I fell it love with it then, and the guys and the songs.
I met Neil at the Chicago fest, and he is SO nice!
I had a chance to meet Eric when I saw him in 2000, on his "Eric Idle Exploits Monty Python" tour, but my husband didn't want to wait around Maybe I could've gotten a cool picture with him too!
