You should talk them into going, no matter what their ages are. Any time to see a fomer Beatle in concert is definitely well worth it.

My dad is 54 and my mom is 46, so they're at the appropriate age to be psyched to see a Beatle but they don't like the Beatles nearly as much as I do and they only know some of his Beatle era songs and his big solo hits, so they aren't to keen on an approx. 4 hour trip to go see Ringo perform.

You see my dad liked Folk music Psychedelia and my mom liked The Monkees and the Osmonds. They both kinda listened to the hits the Beatles had and that was it for the most part.

I love the Beatles and I'm a folk hound. I REALLY LOVE FOLK MUSIC!

My father liked Elvis the Hound Dog man and even saw Elvis many years ago. My favorite uncle grew to appreciate the Beatles because he knew how much I loved them.

My mother was 30 something when the Beatles came to America and thanks to me, has developed a strong knowledge base of things Beatle.

I wouldn't travel 4 hours to see any band except maybe the Beatles themselves. Lucky for me though, I live 1.5 hours from NY, 1.5 hours from Philly, and 1 hour from the Meadowlands which are all major concert venues, and smaller ones within shorter range like the Arts Center where I'm going to see Ringo.

I'm gonna check out the Atlantic City concert and see if that is any closer. Of Course I did get the travel time from that Yahoo map thing and they ALWAYS pick the longest route. I had planned to go to the Portsmouth concert.

Heybeatle, isn't he playing Philly? That's probably 2 hours from Baltimore. The Arts Center is probably a little over 3 hours from Balt which is better than 4. AC is a little closer still. Good luck getting to a show. When I was younger I would have traveled also. Maybe you could make a weekend vacation out of it.

Only 17 days until his show in Montréal !

Pity there is a limit as to the number of smilies that we can put in one post...

Or else I could put seventeen of these...

And write a post every day removing one each time...

Oh well...

maybe that's on of the reasons that limits have been introduced.

Seventeen of those and then a daily update, whereby you probably expect all of us to count them.

No thank you.

Anyways, enjoy Richie, hold high a cupboard with a Beatlelinks.net apple, you may be on TV and we will see yah.

I checked and checked again about a possible Philly concert and had my fingers crossed, but unfortunately there is no post for a concert in Philly on Ticketmaster.

My cupboard will read
"The Netherlands Rule !"

or

"FPSHOT for president !"

P.S.: On his past tours...I know that Ringo does not (usually) play the drums when he is singing a song but does he drum on all the other songs (the ones sung by his band mates) ?

Have a great time ABCKO. Nothing like a live concert. Be sure to report back to us.

But of course ! The show is on Friday the 27th so I'll be giving my impressions, for what they are worth, during the night of Sunday to Monday.

Actually, the 27th is going be a mighty busy day for ABCKO:

The new "The planet of the apes" is opening on that date as well so I'll catch it in the afternoon. I know it won't come close to the original but Charlton Heston does play a minor role in it (an ape).

"Take your stinking paws off of me..."

Then a few...

And a few...

But not to many

Then...it's "RINGO TIME" ("In the town where I was born...").

Then another movie, "Santos vs. the momies" (it's such a bad movie that it's funny).

Have you seen that they actually have Ape warriors running like apes I thought that was really cool. I'm going to try to see that movie on the 27th it looks neat.

You are going to be too exhausted after all of that to report back.

Either that or I'll be in a coma or I'll wake-up on the same "island" as John, Jim Morrison, Elvis and so on...

Not to denigrate Ringo but if it was a Paul (spring 2002 ?) or a George concert...I don't think my heart could take it !
