Chris O'Dell book
Hi all,
Has anyone read Chris O'Dell's book yet? I got it for Christmas & haven't started it yet, but just wanted to know what everyone else thought of it.
Also, can anyone tell me how to post pics? I am kind of a late-bloomer when it comes to this stuff. LOL
Thanks. :-)

AGREED! I keep reading it in the day, dreaming about it at night, and waking up every morning thinking it was something that happened to ME!

I had pre-ordered it and read in one weekend. It is that good of a read. However, I found myself wondering if Chris' "girl crush" on Pattie Boyd, (not meant in a homosexual way, just that she had fantasies about having tea w/Pattie & being her best bud long before she'd ever even met her!), , interfered with the candidness of what she chose to share with her readers. That being said, it is a fascinating glimpse of the Beatles during their Apple years and, specifically, of George in the immediate aftermath of the break up. She also discusses her affairs with Leon Russell & Ringo Starr, her friendships with Pattie and Maureen Starkey, and her work/friendship with other sixties/seventies rock icons like the Stones.

I was fortunate enough to meet Chris at the NY Metro Fest and I genuinely liked her.
I think her book is ready to be a film or at LEAST a Movie of the week kinda thingy.
WHAT a life!!!!!
Imagine spending some time sitting at a table having tea with George.
I woulda fallen right off my chair!!!!

I dug reading about events/situations we Beatles fans are very familiar with (life at Apple, the Concert for Bangla Desh, the George/Pattie/Eric triangle, etc.) told from a perspective we hadn't yet heard; although the reality was hearing the stories being told again, it was like hearing them all new.
I especially liked hearing so much about Maureen. She's one Beatle person I hardly know; Chris' description of her, as one of her best friends, made Mo seem very interesting.

I'd like to meet you as well, Judy. I can't wait until your book arrives. I just ordered it last night.
Chris O'Dell's book IS wonderful and she is a truly delightful woman from what I was able to determine.
On the flip side, I wonder whatever became of that tragic figure, Francie Schwartz. She acted such a fool and no doubt Paul certainly does not want to revisit that time in his life. Her book is simply atrocious and is best used for recycling and lining the bottom of bird cages. Puppy training pads would also be a good use for Ms. Francie's book. She appeared to have tabled her life after 1968 and has gone on to act a complete fool on the RMB music boards. I will bet you one of my favorite Beatle songs that she will never be invited to a fest.
I did meet Larry Kane in 2003 and his book, "Ticket to Ride" as well as his interview was just such a treat!

How about some English tea with Paul and George?
How about tea and light refreshments with the senior Harrisons, their beautiful son George and their only daughter?
