Did John Lennon ever voice any opinion on Syd Barrett or Pink Floyd in general?

Jello Biafra's essay on John Lennon is lovely.

I love that story about Harold, Sr. when he joined his beautiful son George on the 1974 Dark Horse tour.
I want that story about when George was invited by Jack Ford to the White House and got to meet President Ford.
Somebody tell that cool story about when George's only sister Lou came to America and helped nurse George back to health so he could play on The Ed Sullivan show.

What does that dog have to do with the Beatles?
That juggler man picked some good music for his act.

George Harrison had beautiful wavy hair.
I wonder if his only sister ever brushed
it for him after he hit puberty and it
grew in thick, and wavy.
George had a widow's peak as well.
You can see that in early pictures.
George wore the stamp of Harold, Sr.
well about his face and body build.
He had the French cheekbones and
the French intensity radiated from
his Harrison shaped eyes all of his
life.
I think George was very interesting.
