As far as I can tell, once The Beatles landed in the US in Feb. of '64, they were not the top/headline act only one time. Where, when and to who was this?

Colonel...I don't think they opened for Orbison after Ed Sullivan...They were an opening act many times prior to Sullivan and probably for Orbison.

Well they were technically second on the bill to Mitzi Gaynor on the Miami Beach Ed Sullivan show.
She must have been BIG in 1964!
