John was HOT AS HELL and etheral, ageless, beautiful, and tranquil looking in a kimono.
Snoopy, what you want him in a suit the whole time?

Well, I think that John looked far more elegant in a suit Further, he doesn't seem happy, but rather sad on these pictures, like a patient in a hospital.

This girl takes Beatles outfits and modernizes them. Clever idea. Here are two of her converted John looks from Help!:

I would wear all of that. Well, the skirt is pushing it even if I thought I'd look good. I don't want to send out the wrong message. Maybe with some leggings, but that might be too young for me. I guess I'll stick with the jeans. I am not an ageist, I just feel like I know what works and doesn't and I am a mother and a professional.

Maia, thank you! I actually have variations on every item here. I should definitely dress like John in Help! for weeks on end.

You really have, Scruffie ???? Woooow
But which one do you prefer ?? I especially like the cap (the one below "John") and the jeans (I looooove jeans anyway). Though the shorts look cool too
My dream-clothes would be the brown leather-jacket of John from Rubber Soul

I prefer the top selection with the skinny cargos and green blazer and cap. I like that look.
YES Snoopy to the leather jacket on Rubber Soul, my favorite Beatles album cover for John's look especially.

color palette of a FASION ICON
John knew how to mix his colors, and he did it with such ease and confidence that it appeared virtually effortless on his part. He was one of the few rock stars who could wear brights and accessorize them to such perfection that nothing looked like it didn't belong.
Here are some examples of the many colors of John Lennon's wardrobe:
bright red blazer, navy blue patterned scarf, perfect hair
olive green velvet blazer, red silk shirt, FANTASTIC tie
Bright red dress shirt, sleek black pants, gorgeous guitar, perfect hair
bright red shirt, khaki linen blazer, blue jeans, GQMF amazing man
pink pants, white shirt, what a man
ornate jacket, tri-color striped pants, flawless pose
multi-colored patterned jacket, Talisman necklace, flower, face
Horizontal stripes in more earth-tones with a splash of yellow
Coral pink knit turtleneck; like a BOSS
Bright red pants, stone wash knit sweater, the Iconic Afghan jacket, that hair

Damn. My heart is going to stop. This is a fashion thread, not a "John is so hot can you control yourself?" thread.
I have nothing to add except this man could dress. And how.

You are dead-on with that comment... I think he really is underrated as a fashion icon. It's not just the glasses and the hippie clothes or the NYC t-shirt. His ability to mix colors and patterns was impeccable.... and that's a hard thing to do well! Only the truly fashion-forward need apply.
He looks amazing here:

And he always looked like he stood out. He wasn't one to follow- he was a true leader. I love the picture you posted for this example. Everyone is relatively in darker shades, and then there's John bringing the light.
He is underrated as a fashion icon. I truly want to collect our thoughts and pictures and send it to some Men's Fashion Quarterly or something of such matter...but believe me my incentive behind this thread was for attention to be met on the matter of John's flaw-free style.

I may do it! I think this is only the beginning of a more narrow focus in this thread, for me. I have to check out more photos and find the Anna Wintour in me.

OK, that does it, I'm getting a polkadot shirt.
I had one in the '60's when I was a kid, it was navy blue with maroon polkadots, to cool.

Let's not forget, y'all, that John knew how to put outfits together without the aid of a stylist. Every two-bit celebrity and their mommas have stylists nowadays. I t takes zero thought for these fools to look like good li'l metrosexuals...

John dressed impeccably... therefore, you noticed the sexiness!
