Lost Weekend Question 8
///
OK... it obvious (judging by the previous seven question about the Lost Weekend) that there's a good chance that the Lost Weekend is gonna be permanently lost !!!
So yeah, its now up to Kay to see if she can save it from extinction. lol :)
1) John Lennon was actually compelled to play with Elton John at the Madison Square Garden concert (Nov. 28, 1974) ... why ???
2) Why is that concert now part of Beatles/Lennon history ???
3) Was May Pang sitting as part of the audience ???
easy...

This was Lennon's last live concert. Lennon told John that if "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night" was number one, he would perform with John. Pang was not in the audience.

Yep... you've got parts 1 and 2 correct, Kay !!! :)
1) Lennon was honoring a deal he made with Elton
2) It was Lennon's last ever live performance.
Umm... maybe you've gotta be a little more precise with Part 3, Kay...
The Madison Square Garden concert happened during the Lost Weekend...
so yeah, if Pang wasn't sitting in the audience... where was she ???
easy... ;)

May Pang was standing on the stage behind Elton John...
you can see her at the bottom left of the photo, BadGirl/Kay. :)
May recalls the night of the performance:
"When John was called, we both stood in the wings. Then Elton announced John, and John walked center stage to an incredible ovation, and I walked on stage and stood near the speakers near Elton's piano, so that John could see me... Occasionally he turned and looked at me... I sang and danced and gave him reassuring smiles... It was an amazing performance, and the audience went wild."
Obviously, not too many people here visit my site... :(
coz the answers to all these Lost Weekend questions are easily found on my site. lol ;)
easy...

Strange you should say that, BadGirl.
The quote is taken directly from May's book 'Loving John'...
there's no question that May was behind Elton at the concert.
Yoko Ono could confirm that today, so could Elton John...
Elliot Mintz could confirm it too, and he takes a swipe at May at any given opportunity.
Sure, I had to brighten/sharpen/enhance the section of the photo where May is standing for inclusion on my website... but there's no misleading digital trickery going on, nope.
The Original Pic (re-sized only):
The Enhanced Pic (to highlight May Pang):
I deleted the distracting dude behind Lennon too, while I was at it. lol :)
easy... :)

Pang said recently that she and Lennon remained together for about three months after and that stories about John going back to Yoko that night are false...
Lennon also blew off a meeting with Paul in New Orleans that following day.

Yeah, JFKin60... they remained together for 3 months afterwards...
Gruen (and others) have often attempted to undermine to Lennon/Pang relationship.
easy... Justin
