Michael McCartney is born.

Concert at the Majestic Ballroom, Birkenhead.

1964
"Beatles Christmas Show", at the Astoria Cinema, Finsbury Park, London.

The Playhouse Theatre, London. 2:30-4:00pm. Recording for BBC's "Saturday Club": "All My Loving", "Money (That's What I Want)", "The Hippy Hippy Shake", "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Johnnie B. Goode", "I Wanna Be Your Man".

This is the only known recording of "Johnnie B. Goode". "I Want To Hold Your Hand" is the same version recorded December 17, 1963.

1965

"I Feel Fine" number 1, 5th and last week (UK Record Retailer).

"Another Beatles Christmas Show" at the Hammersmith Odeon, London (two performances).

The New Christy Minstrels arrive in the UK from America. 1st American act presented in the UK by Brian. Reception in their honour at the US Embassy in London. Brian attends.

1967
Epstein applies for a special license to show cinema films at the Saville Theatre at midnight on Sundays, after the concerts.

Newspapers report that Epstein, Robert Stigwood and Georgie Fame were spotted deep in conversation at the Bag O'Nails club, London, recently.


Yesterday... And Today, 29th week in the Top 200 (US Billboard).

1968
George flies to India for 5 days of sessions for Wonderwall.

1976
The cremated remains of Mal Evans is shipped in an urn back to England. Somehow it gets lost and finally found in a lost letter office.

1977
In Los Angeles, an exhibition of Linda's photographs is on display at the Jan Baum and Iris Silverman Gallery.

1978

"Mull Of Kintyre" number 1, 6th week (UK British Market Research Bureau).
"Mull Of Kintyre" number 1, 5th week (Irish Singles Chart).
"Mull Of Kintyre" number 1, 3rd week (Dutch Top 40).

1983
In Los Angeles, the Linda exhibition "Photographs" is displayed at the Molly Barnes Gallery.

1984

"Say Say Say" number 1, 5th week (US Billboard).
"Say Say Say" number 1, 4th and last week (Canadian RPM Magazine).
"Say Say Say" number 1, 2nd week (Hitkrant Europarade).

1995

Live At The BBC number 1 (European Music & Media).

At the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford, Yoko's art exhibition "Have You Seen The Horizon Lately" is on display.

1998
Two bronze busts, worth £50,000 each, are stolen from George's garden in Henley.

In Washington, D.C., an exhibition of Beatles photographs taken by Harry Benson is on display at the Govinda Gallery.

1999
In Tampa, Florida, the exhibition of Linda's pictures entitled "Sixties" is on display at the Tampa Museum of Art.

2001

1 number 1, 8th week (UK Official UK Charts Company).

2003
The Beatles Book Monthly closed down after 40 years. Author Sean O'Mahony, who set up the magazine in 1963, said there was nothing more to say as the number of things the former Beatles were doing gets less and less as the years go on.

2010
According to Nielsen SoundScan's final 2009 figures, the Beatles are still the best selling group, thanks to their remastered catalog which sold 3,282,000 copies.
