Default Guitar tone on Revolution and Taxman?

I've got one of the new Epiphone Casinos and was wondering if anyone knows what amp Paul used to play the solo on Taxman with.

And what amp and pickup/amp setting did John use for that "Revolution" rhythm guitar sound?

Not sure about taxman but for revolution,I heard they just plugged directly into the REDD mixing console and just cranked the preamps till they distorted.

I can't be 100% certain, but they were definitely using Fender Showman (blackface) "piggy-back" amps on Revolver—at least, those were some new amps that they introduced into their arsenal during those sessions.

They were still using Vox amps, of course. But.....

I just realized that this original post was from two years ago!

I hope he got his answer by now!

I would suggest reading Geoff Emerick's book "Here, There & Everywhere" and "Beatles Gear" by Andy Babuick (sp?). Lot's of info and great reading.

"Beatles gear" is definitely the Bible of Beatle recording/instruments.

On Revolution the guitar was plugged into the board.......I think one of EMI's custom made Redd boards.....If memory serves from Ken Scotts book.....
My guess on Taxman is an AC 30.......The mids don't sound very Fendery on that track, but I could be wrong......never spent much time with showmans........
