Just got "Mind Games!"
Alrighty. I've been wanting this one for a while now. I've never heard any of the tracks on there except for Mind Games. Just wondering what y'all thought of it.
BTW, I got me a shirt from the 70's (winged collar, neat design, etc)

Re: Just got "Mind Games!"
I voted "Meat City." Plus, when I was going to ring the CD up, the clerk said, "This is one of the good ones,"

Re: Just got "Mind Games!"
I love it, but I love every John album, anyway. I voted "Tight A$" because that is EXACTLY what it is (excluding "Only People"- for me). I think Mind Games is one of those albums that has this reputation it really shouldn't-like its thought "less" of than a lot of John albums, but its extremely strong and very consistent and I think it is beautiful. ESPECIALLY the remastered one, because we get all those extra things and the sound is wonderful.

Re: Just got "Mind Games!"
I had to vote for the title track. The imagery in the lyrics is just too wonderful. I love phrases like "pushing the barriers" and "karmic wheel".
I like the guitar work a lot, too. I think the song is pure genius, and I think the words can stand as a poem.

I picked "I Know (I Know)". It's a great song with beautiful lyrics. "Out The Blue" comes right after it.

I picked Mind Games cuz I just got the Mind Games album recently and that's the only song i'm familiar with yet. I do love that song though!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I agree, Fly -- this is a seriously underrated album! Funny, I didn't own a copy of this one until very late in the game -- I finally got a vinyl copy just a few years ago. Isn't that weird? Anyway, hubby gave me the remastered CD for Xmas and I can't stop listening to it! It's wonderful -- lots of really strong songs, and a lot of PASSION...you can tell that John was singing about things that were really important to him.
I'm kicking myself that I never paid much attention until NOW...what the HECK was I thinking!?!?

Re: Just got "Mind Games!"
The title track is my favourite and I voted for it but "You Are Here" is a personal favourite. I think that "Out The Blue" is a close second to the title track.

Re: Just got "Mind Games!"
Out The Blue is the best track on that CD. Second would come Mind Games. Out The Blue is a very, extremely underrated song. It is one of my all time favorites next to #9 Dream, Woman, Watching The Wheels. Check out this track entitled One Early Mourning. It is a great song and you can hear it for free at the following link... http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/freis
