Looks pretty cool...but I really wish they'd throw a Beatles song or two into albums like these. You could call this the definitive John Lennon Solo collection, maybe, but IMHO, you can't have a definitive John Lennon collection without a few songs like "In My Life" or "Dear Prudence."

Yes, Walls and Bridges remastered comes out in October as well. You are right--there are way too many Lennon compilations.

I'd certainly rather have "Walls and Bridges".

I saw a TV commericial for this today, on Food Network for Chrissake's, and I'd been napping...thought something funky had been going on when I went to sleep to Paula Deen and woke up to "Imagine." Anyway, the ad said this disc was the first time Lennon's work has ever been compiled. I nearly wet myself laughing and wondered how they could call it the "only complete compilation;" I believe there are more Lennon compilations than there are Lennon solo albums.

Good as that collection looks with some great cuts from Milk and Honey (Borrowed Time and Grow Old With Me especially!) it's just not worth buying if you have all the original albums AND Shaved Fish AND The Collection AND Lennon Legend. Good release but a pointless one!

I might skip this one also. It has nothing that makes it wothwhile to spend money on the same tracks. I don't know what the booklet will be like, but it has to be special with some unknown photo's to make me reconsider.

Looking forward however to the remaster of "Walls and Bridges".

I am what you would call a "completist," so I try to get everything there is, no matter if I already have all the songs or not. I pretty much have all Beatles stuff and almost all solo stuff, so now I am working on my bootleg collection. :)

The only reason I would buy this is for the booklet or something else extra to distinguish it and make it worth parting with my money. I would have to think about this one - although in no short supply of good songs, it still does not sound as if it has any distinctive extras for me to justify buying it. However, I will reserve judgment until I see the booklet.

I'm gonna buy the Definitive Lennon and put it in the place of Lennon Legend.
And the remasters too, I have all the others, so...
