Anyone heard the Lexus commerical yet? Chaos and Creation. I don't believe Paul ever licensed a song for commerical use...before it came out and before the tour. I understand Lexus is sponsoring the tour.

It's definitely a "grower". The first time I heard it, I was like "ehh....it's ok, there are a couple of good tunes" and now after 5 or 6 times through, I like everything except two songs. It's not quite as immediate and catchy as some of Paul's stuff, but it really does grow on you. I doubt it'll ever be one of my top 5, but it's really good and I really like it a lot.

Thumbs up Well done Macca

I am really impressed with this album. I have listened to it at least ten times in the last week. Yesterday I compared it to Flaming Pie by listening to them back to back. In my opinion FP is just a hair above Chaos. But I believe that this album is more consistently good, not really any filler tracks. My favorite song on the album is definetly Too Much Rain, nice intro and good message. I wish I could catch the new tour (saw him on the last one in Vegas) and hear some of the new songs live. Overall I think this album is definetly in his top four solo albums. I hope Paul continues to release albums for many years to come. Well done Macca!

I finally bought it on Sunday. I sure am glad that I did. I've even got my boyfriend digging it. To me that is very impressive!

One thing I noticed about the CD is that it's not copy controled, you can easily copy it to your PC.

I finally bought Chaos And Creation In The Backyard on Saturday (I don't know what took me so long) and I must say I really really love it! I think this the best album Paul has made in I-don't-know-how-many years! I loved it from the first time I heard it and the second time I was close to ecstatic about it. There isn't any song that I dislike and it's hard to pick a favorite, since I love pretty much every single one of the songs. I especially like 'Fine Line', 'Jenny Wren', 'At The Mercy', 'Friends To Go', 'English Tea', ' Promise To You Girl' and 'This Never Happened Before'. Well, thatīs almost the whole album. 'This Never Happened Before' and 'At The Mercy' are probably the ones I like most right now, but I keep changing my mind. I'm listening to this album right now, the second time today.

I'm so happy about this album! I must admit, that Driving Rain was a little bit of a disappointment for me (although there are many songs I like on that one, too), that's why I'm so happy that this album is so brilliant. I also think Paul's voice sounds better, stronger, on Chaos And Creation In The Backyard than on Driving Rain. This new album is definitely one of Paulīs best, IMO. I also love the cover (young Paul ).

Congrats, Paul, you've made a very good album!

Hola amigos:

I bought the album today with the DVD bonus. Immediately I put it on my car CD. Then at my work I listen to it about three times, of course to get familiar with the music and the lyrics. At the beginning I like Fine Line, English Tea, Too Much Rain, A Certain Softness, , but the song I like the most is This Never Happened Before.

Paul voice is wonderful and clear and the music is great. I like that he played most of the instruments. And he looks so sexy and handsome in the “Fine Line video. So if you are going to buy this new CD, buy it with the Special Edition DVD.

Funny thing about this album, when I first got it, I played it straight through and I wasn't too crazy about it. After that, I would play the first song (Fine Line), then skip over to Jenny Wren (one of my favorites!) then skip to Friends to Go, English Tea, and Too Much Rain. Then I'd skip over to "Promise to You Girl", and that would be it.
But in the last week or so, I've been playing it every day -- not sitting there concentrating on it, but having it in the background while I do housework or other things, and all of a sudden I'm singing subconsciously all these other songs that I used to skip, and I'm really starting to love them! Sometimes I'll even have a song stuck in my head all day, like "A Certain Softness", or "Follow Me" - ones that I never thought I'd care to hear again, but I do! I actually like the whole album now.

I haven't heard much new mccartney in a long time, except for the music he did on the Cavern reunion DVD which is not original material. I guess I like Paul best when he's rocking out and then throws in a nice ballad. I must say, C&CITB threw me for a loop! A friend burned me a copy and I listened to it hoping for some good rockin', at first I was disappointed to find only a collection of very mellow, "acoustic" tunes. BUT, I was intrigued by what I heard! I like this album. Paul sounds like he's writing about some issues here. Not sure exactly what they are yet. But I'm gonna have a lot more listens and see if I can figure it out. Like I said, I'm intrigued by Paul's new album. Good stuff!

I really like this album! I especially like 'Fine line', 'Jenny Wren', and 'A Certain Softness'. All the reviews here in Israel are really great! (which is fairly rare...)

Did you guys read the Rolling Stone interview? It's all about the album - how Paul made it and the stories behind some of the songs. Personally, I'm a "Too Much Rain", "Riding to Vanity Fair" and "Follow Me" fan!

Does anyone know whom the song Riding To Vanity Fair is addressed to?

In the RS article, Paul said it was his attempt at a mean song. He said John was the good one at writing songs with venom, Paul stated that since he had a happy childhood, anytime he wrote something mean, it wasn't good, so I guess this is his first successful attempt.

Oh I don't know. I think he's written a few pretty mean songs in his time. "I'm looking through you" is a nasty little piece of work (which I love, btw!).

Same here...

... and what about "Angry", "Give Ireland back to the Irish" or "Big boys bickering", just to name these three ?

Besides, John wrote enough ''angry'' songs for all four of them anyways.

I love this tune! It is wonderfully written. I would say that this is my favourite song on the whole album. Well, I would rank it at number one on my list...

When I have a fight with someone in particular I turn on my iPod and just blare it! Believe it or not it always puts me in a better mood.

It puts things into perspective too - everyone can relate to this song.

Talking

I think that "A Certain Softness" would have to be one of the most catchy little tunes ever written in the world - I am CONSTANTLY singing it! It is getting annoying because it is in my head last thing at night and then again when i wake up in the morning! Has anybody else got the same problem? I think it is my fav song on the album. That and the end of the "this never happened before" one.
