Silly Love Songs
How @#$*-ing great is this song?!?!?!? It's like three songs strung together that could have been hit singles by themselves.
And anyone who knocked Linda's involvement in Paul's musical career were dead wrong. She sounds so good with him—perfectly complimented his voice very nicely.

What do you expect? It's silly.

Yes, it's pop—ingeniously crafted pop. But I hardly would call it "sickly". LOL! If it's "sickly", then nearly every pop song ever written is being rushed to the ER.

Yeah this song has really grown on me to me one of my favorites by Paul.

Well, it has a great bassline, but what I really like about it is that it's kind of an FU song. Everybody always whines about how sickeningly sweet it is (and parts of it are), but it's also got a "Don't like it? Screw you" attitude in it that I think most people miss.

That was ... horrifying. I'm sure it makes more sense in context. But Rellevart, I do like what you had to say about the song.

Everything just blends together so perfectly, it's great.
Every time I listen to it, I always love hearing the "Oh, I do" in reply to Linda around 4:42 in the version I have.
It just makes me want to dance.

... and is it that much worst, if worst at all, than some of the Barry Manilow and (more recent) Rod Stewart songs that made their way up the charts over the years ? ... Mariah Carey anyone ?

... my only fault with this one is that it could have well done beeing a good two or three minutes shorter, I mean, just under six minutes long ? ... as good as it it, that song isn't "Hey Jude" or "Isn't it a pity".
What I do like most about that song though are the overlaping "Hoooow... can I tell... you about... my loved one" with the otherb lines. The intro is also VERY good !

Well, I dunno. Compared to truly great love songs like "And I Love Her", "I Will", "Michelle", or "Here There and Everywhere", it's rather second-rate, in my opinion.
But hey, even Paul McCartney is allowed some clunkers!

If you can believe it, this is the first time I have ever heard this version! I pretty much stayed away from "Broad Street" as well as most of Paul's 80's efforts.
This is like the "Phil Collins-ization" of a great song that should have not happened. Yick!

I like the song, clever and funny. "Here I go again." Nice. "I look around me and I see it isn't so." And he's right, lots of people bought the record, and even more people like it.
