A Question for the Younger Fans
To the younger beatles fans:
Do your peers tend to like the Beatles or more modern music? My friends tend to like current pop, like Backstreet Boys (a talentless group of prepubescent poster boys.) Only a few like the beatles, despite my efforts to convert them. Does anyone else have anything to say about this issue? If you ask me, people judge the Beatles because they are an old band. I think that if I played a Beatles song on a Top 40 radio station saying it was by a popular artist, it would be a megahit among my generation.

Re: A Question for the Younger Fans
Great description about Backstreet Boys. Couldn't put it better myself.
About the topic. I know a few people my age who like the Beatles, in fact most people in my school like them, but don't want to talk about them constantly like I'd like to. A few are into my PiD page at the moment as well.

Re: A Question for the Younger Fans
obessions are fun, yes our friends (14) like those bsbs or somethings, but they dont write their own music. i mean even elton john wrote at least the melody. the beatles are timeless. and if i may say a beatles (and donny mcclean) cult is rising by us.

Re: A Question for the Younger Fans
I dunno if I'd even count as a "younger" fan, but I do agree that if one played a Beatles song and tried to pass it off as a "new artist," it would get a warmer reception among the kids. At least, that's what I experienced in the early 80s when I was a teenage lass...
I think there's a popular misconception that the Fab Four were somehow "goody-goodies." This despite the stolen leathers in the early days, the Butcher Cover, John's heroin addictions, etc.
Huh.
