People in my Biology I class who do not want to work and don't shut their freaking mouths, and kids who talk back to teachers. That's so not cool.

I don't like it when people try to get sympathy out of others on purpose... but then when you need to rant about things, you feel really hypocritical...

Yeah, insomnia. It's a drag all right.

Another tick-me-off is brown nosing. If there is one thing I just cannot stand, it is boot licking! I hate it when people bow and scrape to get in another's good graces. I have actually known people who would agree with you if you said the Golden Gate Bridge was in Boston; the sky was plaid and that a Ford was really a Honda in disguise. Instead of refuting obvious untruths, they agree with you and do everything but dance naked for your attention and approval. That drives me stark staring up a tree.

Computer difficulties and a busy week at school have give me very little time on the Links lately. :(

(And a cat that sits right in front of the computer screen and tries to eat breakfast which isn't his. )

Oh, another irritant for me today would be my boss. He's SUCH a nice man, but he's SO ineffectual. I mean, he's my BOSS, but he comes up to me so meekly and asks things like "May I possibly have a moment of your time?" Um, you're my boss and I'm at work. OF COURSE you can have a moment of my time. Just come and ask me what you want to ask me, don't creep up all cringing like you're bothering me. Eeeesh.

I agree, Luvs. I can't stand when people try to milk others for sympathy. And yeah, you do feel hypocritical at these times...

People who appear to look for reasons to chew others out.

One thing that I find a thorn in the side is when people make a big show out of expressing sympathy for someone with the idea of receiving plaudits in return for being altruistic, benevolent and kind. I find this behavior anything but altruistic, benevolent and kind - I think it is self serving. I have known people who have done this in 2D and 3D - they make a point of lamenting over someone and in some cases people they don't know and have only read about and turn every discussion about that person into a sobathon over that person. That, too is a dodge and a ploy and throws potentially good conversations off course. I don't like that at all.

Another thing that I find annoying (and I've seen this in other places) is when people turn a good topic replete with good discourse and input into an apology thread so they can stay in the good graces of the powers that be. I don't like that and think it is calculated and manipulative. It's a red herring, a dodge and a ploy to throw others off the topic and reassure them when they derail a topic into an apology thread. I can't stand apology threads. :thumbsd: That is something I really don't like at all.

My irritant is people twist your words around so that they save face. I'm finding it very difficult to be nice to people like that.

Seeing the happiest person on earth almost in tears and in a very sombre mood can really tear up your insides.

It's very frustrating when you're trying to help a coworker with her schoolwork and she won't listen. She wrote a paper for her English Comp. class and she asked me to proofread it for her. I did and asked her to change a few things, mostly grammar, sentence structure, etc. However, there were some changes that she would not listen to and I know the paper would sound better if they were changed. You see, she's been in this country for 13 years. Her English isn't that great. It's not bad on paper, but it does need work. I'm trying to help her out, but it's frustrating when she won't listen and wants to always keep it her way. I'm lucky that she's at least changing some of the commas and learning to proper way as to where to put quotation marks.
