Default Ringo\'s song of the moment

Like at Crackerbox Palace, let's advise eachother regarding songs-of-the-day from Ringo's discography.

I start with

Photograph

which is a Starkey-Harrison production which still is strong and when I hear it anywhere brings back memories from the RINGO - album period.

George and Ringo wrote it, you hear the acoustic guitars from that period, the horns and the George O'Hara Smith Singers doing thousands of vocals.

A wonderful song.

Join in.

Everytime I see your face
It reminds me of the places
We used to go

One of several songs I love that are about photographs. The first time I saw Ringo sing this song in concert, it was one of those "I can die happy now" moments.

a beautiful, emotional song from 1973.

This is also my favorite Ringo song. It's very well done. And it you listen close enough, you can hear George's harmony. Lovely..

Seeing Ringo sing this song while he is standing under an enormous photograph of George makes you even more * * *

Great choice probably one of Ringo's top 5 songs. The song has even deeper meaning now. What a wonderful Beatles time period 1973 was.

I love that song! I always cry when I listen to it, and sometimes I listen so much I flood my room. It's so sad!

Today's song is a B side

Down and Out

Ringo-written on piano, played by Gary Wright, a strong up-tempo song, produced by George who adds guitar and slide solo, as producer added a nice horn section.

Rock & Roll

LOOKED AT THE SKY, WHAT DID I SEE?
I SAW SOMEONE LOOKING AT ME.
AND I'M DOWN AND OUT, DOWN AND OUT,
WELL, I'M DOWN, SO DOWN, DOWN AND OUT.

LOOKED IN THE FIRE, WHAT DID I SEE?
I SAW SOMEONE LOOKING AT ME.
AND I'M DOWN AND OUT, DOWN AND OUT,
WELL, I'M DOWN, SO DOWN, DOWN AND OUT.

ALRIGHT, GARY!

LOOKED IN THE FRIDGE, WHAT DID I SEE?
I SAW SOMEONE LOOKING AT ME.
AND I'M DOWN AND OUT, DOWN AND OUT,
WELL, I'M DOWN, SO DOWN, YEAH, DOWN AND OUT.

Always loved that one...

Ringo at his catchy best...

Not the most clever of songs but it will put a...

...on your face !

I especially like the solo on the lower keys of the piano and when Ringo shifts the beat to double-time towards the end.

Today I go for

I'm The Greatest

Described at the time of the albums release as the new setting of the Beatles, with Klaus on bass, this song is a sort of new With A Little Help... for Ringo.

There are various demo versions of this one available, some of them only with John on piano but others with George and the whole band.

I've even read that, at the time, John joked to people that all four Beatles had played on the track...
