Some of them still work! Depends on who owns it. Surely, since there are 17 million, some should work. They're not sold anymore.

I used to own one but sold it a couple months ago because it was taking up space. Still worked fine!

Sorry, I won't be selling mine.

Still, it could be hard to find a functionable joystick even if you manage to find a machine. Keyboard control was the most abominable concept a C-64 gamer knew.
