I'm still waiting to get mine. I won't get it until October 12. I saw it when I wet to target the other day, but it was wrapped up and I couldn't open it. That makes me want to see it even more!

I just got the book. It is soo amazing. Words cannot describe it. There are TONS of pictures and info on songs and it is detailed from their Quarryman days till the Breakup. What sucks about it, is that the book is so big, I can't fit it on my scanner lol. So I can't scan any of the pictures for my page. I don't want to risk ripping any of the pages. Maybe I'll go buy a hand held scanner.

This is a GREAT book! The never-before-seen pics are amazing. One thing that's for sure is that this book will last a long time. Can you believe the thickness of the pages? At first, I thought I had two pages stuck together.

Ripping into the plastic cover on the book a few weeks back when I got it was about as thrilling as putting the anthology video into the VCR for the first time! I, too, was meant to be waiting for my birthday on the 9th of November but my mother brought it home a whole month earlier and being John's birthday on that particular day I thought it was only right that I should open it there and then!
The pictures are just excellent. Another little touch I like is all those things in the background on some of the pages - like John & Cyn's marriage certificate, cheques to the tax department from George & Paul and song lists for concerts.
Clearly an awful lot of effort went into making such a beautiful book! It was well worth $150 (that's New Zealand dollars!).

Wrapped in wool?
The trouble I find with beatles books is that I just end up looking at the pictures, and don't read the damn things for ages.

New Zealand is good, bearkat. I'm sure you've heard that it has a lot of sheep which is true but some people are under the misconception that they wander the streets in the city or something. I live in the capital city so I like that. It's just coming into summer right now which I have been waiting years for (I spent my last summer in England so it was their winter!). I do like living here - after living in the centre of London for three months I realised just how good I actually do have it here - but I can't wait to get back the the Swinging City. The night-life here in Wellington certainly leaves a little to be desired! As soon as I finish studying next year I'm out of here! In terms of being a Beatles fan it isn't all that flash. Of course being on the other side of the world means that what few Beatles-related things that make their way here are really expensive! (I'm sure you can imagine my excitment when I got to shop at the London Beatles shop, the Mathew Street one and all the other little ones in Liverpool where I could get proper Beatles stuff for once!). Also, reading in here all those things about Beatles TV specials and stuff...do you think we get anything like that here? Also I feel a bit ashamed of some of the treatment that they got when they came here - some people egged them, John got his flash leather pants ripped because of a riot and some old farmer threw them out of his car - so I hope that none of you judge me because of the hick treatment that my people gave the Beatles!!
Despite that it's good here in New Zealand. You should come and check it out!

If I could, I would. But the next best thing is meeting the people, from the different countries, here. The Beatles really got a raw deal in Manila.
The book is really a treasure to have. If you haven't gotten a copy yet, you should.

A few words about the Anthology book...

The cover may be silver, but what's inside is pure gold!

If there is any fan out there contemplating whether or not it's worth the money, I assue you -- IT IS!

Every fan MUST have a copy of this book!

It is a great book, but my experience sofar is I don't know where to start. Till now, I have just been going from 1962 to 1969 to 1964 etc picking and choosing.

It's all too much to just sit down and start reading from the beginning.

Am I the only one with this?

You're not alone, man. I've been doing the same thing. BTW, nice choice of words... "It's All Too Much". Sounds like a good title for a song.

My birthday was November tenth. A huge box that was heavy as a thanksgiving turkey was thrown apon my lamp.

Damn I thought, where the hell is the bass guitar I've been asking about for three years.. amazon.com says the box.. hmm.. OH MY GOD.. there is only one thing this can be... HOLY Mother of a DOG.... IT IS!!!

My mother, the one in love with the Monkees cuz she had to be different.. she got my IT!!
My bible!!!!!

I didn't ask for it becuase I know there was no chance she'd pay more than fifteen for a book...

Oh yeah, and I love this "Jeni page 300 is something I really don't want you to spend your time on....."

I don't have it yet!
I'm gonna die! My cousin has it though. (Paul's Girl) She showed it to me, and I went nuts looking at all the really cute pictures in it. I want it for X-mas now. My mom won't buy it for me, she says I have to save up my allowance! >

Saving is a wise move, I recommend it to everybody
I once had a friend, who, after 2 years saved his beard off.
