I'd probably say the most obscure Beatles recording is that little Paul snippet at the end of John's "Cry Baby Cry" -- which goes "Can you take me back, where I came from.." It seems to be a totally separate song, yet is not listed on the album cover, and the lyrics aren't printed on the "White Album"s pull-out sheet. It IS included on the "LOVE" CD, listed as "Cry Baby Cry" -- but I'd still call it pretty obscure.

Has anyone come across a song called Something new.
Last year when a judge incorporated Beatle song titles into a judgement he used a song called something new. I was on another fansite and the girl who ran it said 'now that is a real fan'. Obviously, because he knew a rare song. But i've never heard of it.

I'm gonna go with "Think For Yourself". Such an underrated classic by George, on Rubber Soul

I always thought "Things We Said Today" was one of their alltime best and no one but hardcore Beatle fans know of it.

Rain.
Hey bulldog. I said to someone once I'd just heard it on the radio and they said something like 'oh! You know that one. You're more of a fan than I thought.'

Yes you can. Just put the ending of the YouTube's URL between [ tube] and [ /tube]. Just the part after the "=" and omit the spaces.

I can't think of the most obscure song because different people might have different definitions of the word "obscure." Some call songs that aren't frequently played on the radio obscure; some think obscure songs are the ones they like that the average person isn't a huge fan of. It depends.
Actually, if you're talking about "obscure" as meaning unusual, Glass Onion was the first to come to mind. Very unusual song.

I agree, a lot depends on your definition of "obscure." I think songs that aren't in the recorded canon of "official" Beatles albums (plus "Past Masters") are in their own class of obscurity. My definition of "obscure" would be songs that aren't frequently, or ever, played on the radio (whether in their original incarnation or in cover versions by the Carpenters or Siouxsie and the Banshees or anyone in between). Songs that, for someone like me just picking up the CDs in 2009, were a revelation -- songs like "For No One" or "She Said She Said" or "Think for Yourself." Or, yes, "Glass Onion."

I've just thought about " You like me too much". It was even obscure for its own composer, who never ever sang it live, or even mentioned it on his " I me mine" book. ( he didn't mention " I need you " either, but as it appeared on Help! the film as well as the CFG I wouldn't call it obscure)

I've found that most of the Anthology 1 songs are "obscure," mostly because some of them are pre-Beatles or pre-Ringo. Cayenne, Besame Mucho, Cry For A Shadow… Cry For A Shadow is one of my favorite songs, but nobody's seemed to have heard of it.
