I looked through quite a bit of this section on Beatles' literature, but didn't notice this great humorous take on the Beatles' possible future, post 1970 break-up. Maybe it's buried in here somewhere, but thought it was worth bringing it to the folk's attention that have never heard of it.
"Paperback Writer"
A novel by Mark Shipper - The Life and Times of the Beatles: The spurious Chronicle of Their Rise to Stardom, Their Triumphs & Disasters Plus the Amazing Story of Their Ultimate Reunion.
I probably came upon this just after it was published. It rests, along with all my other most cherished literature, in storage at the moment, waiting for a time when I can leisurely relive some of my favorite pieces of literary history.
It has been a long, long time since I have read this, but the general emotional memory of it still lingers.
It is a great fictional look at what might have happened if a reunion had materialized, but due to a somewhat dud of a new album, are cruelly forced to open for Peter Frampton on their reunion tour.
Find a copy. They are still out there.
