Dear L2K Supporters,

IT's OFFICIAL : LENNON 2000 the one night musical concert to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of John Lennon's Death is set :

SUNDAY 10th of December @ The PALACE Theatre, Cambridge Circus, London, UK

It has been confirmed that a percentage of all proceeds will be going to:
'The BBC Children in Need Fund' and 'WWF' who will be our official Charities.

Also, 'MAC Cosmetics' and 'Yellow Submarine-clothing' are our first 2 main sponsors.

ONLY 26 DAYS LEFT BEFORE TICKETS ARE OFFICIALLY ON SALE!!!!!

The official LENNON 2000 website will also be open by early September so stay tuned for details.

To "commemorate the anniversary of" doesn't sound very good. I'd perfer something along the lines of "in honor of" or "in memory of". Either of them would properly fit the untimely death of John Lennon.
If I could make it, I'd be there, but chances are I won't, due to financial matters.

Bearkat is right. The death of such an amazing person should not be celebrated as an "anniversary".

The use of the word "anniversary" is quite appropriate, so long as you do not use the word "celebrate" before it.

That sounds like a nice thing to do for a very cool man. However I agree that the wording they ues for it is a bit odd. It's to bad something like that doesn't happen in the U.S.A.
