The Beatles appeared on the radio show "Easy Beat" a total of four times. In total they played 11 different songs:
Please Please Me (Twice)
Misery
From Me to You (Three times)
Some Other Guy
A Taste of Honey
Thank You Girl
I Saw Her Standing There (Twice)
A Shot of Rhythm and Blues
Twist and Shout
Love Me Do
She Loves You

All of these songs were played multiple times live on the air (at least on the BBC) so it is technically a trick question.

But if you mean live in front of an audience then it is "Misery" (April 3, 1963) and "A Shot of Rhythm and Blues" (June 17, 1963). So zipp should get the point

Well, I can't argue with that!

I must admit though that the more I try to understand the question the more it puzzles me!

I apologize for the confusion I've caused with this question ; maybe it should be properly worded:
The existing recordings of The Beatles' appearances on the Easy Beat radio show include the only live performances (before an audience) by The Beatles of what two songs?

zipp is correct in mentioning "A Shot of Rhythm and Blues", and I'll award a point for that. And I'm impressed with bl114's research, but one song that was recorded on the Easy Beat show was left out of the list; I'll award one more point for the song (composed by John) that was left out.

There it is. Both songs were performed July 17, 1963.

The Beatles' third edition of their BBC-radio show Pop Go The Beatles was actually their second episode recorded; why was this episode held back to be broadcast third instead of second?

Maybe because they didn't want From Me To You to feature in two consecutive shows. (It had already been played in Pop Go The Beatles 1 and would feature again in PGTB 3).

Sorry for the delay.

Still no correct answer. Hint: during the recording of the episode, reference was made to an event that had a specific date, so the broadcast of the show was held back to be closer to the event; what was the event referred to in the show?

Still not correct.

Hint: the event was a personal one for one particular Beatle.

Sorry, wrong Beatle.

Hint: the episode was scheduled to be broadcast on June 11, but was held back until June 18.

Correct! During the recording, reference was made to Paul's birthday, so the show wasn't broadcast as scheduled on June 11, but was held back until Paul's birthday, June 18; good job, Maia

The BBC-radio program Pop Go The Beatles was originally produced by Terry Henebery, but the last few episodes were produced by Henebery's assistant Ian Grant … why?

Hint: George explained that Terry Henebery was a fan of a different kind of music and hated The Beatles. For the point, of what kind of music was Henebery a fan?
