Re: Anthology Book
I'd just like to say that I went to my library the other day to get this book and the list of holds on it was so long that I would have to wait till July to get a copy. I'll have to just wait till Christmas...

Re: Anthology Book
Great book. The only thing I didn't like about it was Johns' quotes. I found it annoying when a single entry from John had sentences that were from different times. It seemed that in order to make a single point, the editors were prepared to slap together a sentence from 1968 and one from 1980. That didn't seem right to me.

Re: Anthology Book
Anthology was great.... but,I was just in the Beatles store in Bloomingdale's in NYC and there is a new book out by Sid Bernstein, the promoter of the Shea concerts, Carnegie Hall, etc. This book is called Not Just the Beatles and it has some great unheard stories about how this Bernstein fellow brought the Beatles to America. A must for die-hard fans. You can see the book at www.notjustthebeatles.com. Also, check out the Beatles store at Bloomies.

Re: Anthology Book
Sometimes parents do understand, but not for the same reasons you think. Being a parent is not the easier job in the world. We tend to watch out for our kids and help them chose between right and wrong. Give it some time and let your parents check the book out first. If they even remotely like the Beatles, they will eventually buy it.

Re: Anthology Book
I really want it, but I am at a lacking for money and what I do havegoes towards christmas gifts for others, so i'm hoping my parents or my grandparents will get it for me. Unfortunately my mother doesn't agree with me that I do infact need this book, she says I could get one of the cheaper bios. Oh well sometimes parents just don't understand.

Re: Anthology Book
Thats what I figure will end up happening and if they don't get it for me I'll just buy it with christmas money. Cause it isn't the content they're worried about its the cost.

Re: Anthology Book
My grammy and grandpa got it for me for Christmas. When I first got the package I thought it was a sweater but after I had one corner open, I ended practically squealing my thanks to my grandparents. I think this is one of the best autobiographies I've read.

Re: Anthology Book
I can beat all of you guys. I have three people who decided they loved me...
My mom won't let me give them away though... Blah.. I know a girl who I know wouldn't be able to afford one and I really wanted to share the goods, but nope.
So.. I take two back and one has to stay in the packaging for collecting reasons..
Mwahahahah

Re: Anthology Book
Do you remember my mentioning a Beatles sweatshirt among my memorabilia? Well, John is wearing one just like it in a photograph on page 122! (I hope I got the page # right, as I don't have the book near me at the moment.) Too cute!

Re: Anthology Book
CUTE! You're sooo lucky! Is it the Miami picture? Where he's wearing his Red/Orange Swim trunks? I LOVE that pic.! I also got the Anthology book for X-mas! My sis, cousin, and I were daring each other to look at page 300 for a minute straight! Yuck! We just read the words though. I also got the "John Book" (In His Own Write) It's sooo funny and cute!!!
