Default Bass in Hey Jude

I'm sorry if there's another thread like this, but I have to ask because it's driving me mad.

I totally love the LOVE-album. In Hey Jude about 03.06 a bassline starts, and I recognize it, but I just can't figure out which song it comes from.
Does anybody know this? Because it's driving me completely mad.

(And I hope you understood me... :P)

That's one of the bits in Love I could never figure out either...

I honestly don't think I've listened to the album more than once. But I'll check it out to see if I can figure it out.

Yes, that is a great funky bassline. I am not sure what song it comes from either...
But from the sound I think it is direct-injected, so it must be from the White Album - Abbey Road era.

A guess of mine would be "I want you (she´s so heavy)", but I didn´t have time to figure it out properly.

it's the bass line from hey jude.

if you actually listen to the regular version of hey jude you can hear the bass line right as it fades out. it's probably best to use headphones to really hear it.

It is one of the standout moments from the album, no question. I think we had a thread recently about whether there was any bass at all on 'Hey Jude,' and whether George or Paul played it if there was. I gather they had a six string bass that George would play on occasion, possibly on "Hey Jude" and also perhaps on "Two of Us." I haven't looked at the footage for awhile.

George actually played his Fender Telecaster as the "bass" on "Two Of Us"... resourceful little buggers!

It's funny, cause I have two friends who are Beatles fans, and they didn't know where that was from either, and it amazed me. But, I am the Paulie girl among us, so I suppose it makes sense that I would notice that before. That's one of the things that makes me excited about a retouched Beatles catalogue, because I think it will be so much clearer, and we'll be able to pick out this kind of thing more clearly.
