I just returned to NYC from Sydney, Australia where I had the pleasure of catching a powerful new play about John, entitled And in the End (The Death and Life of John Lennon) at the Parade Theatre in Kensington. It's got a fantastic cast; Valentine Pelka (who was Kronos in the Highlander series) as Lennon was mesmorizing. Great supporting actors too who play a variety of characters. Opens with the gunshots... Lennon goes through the five stages of death (based on the Kubler-Ross book "On Death and Dying"). Quite a brilliant concept tackled by writer/director, Alexander Marshall. The show contained no Lennon or Beatles songs, but to tell you the truth, I didn't miss them. The writing and performances were so gripping and revealing; besides we already know the songs. This show truly captured my attention, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is going to be 'down under' in the next few weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it and/or if they know if it has plans to come to the states. They've got a pretty neat website too:
