I much prefer Happy X-Mas (WIO) over Wonder Christmastime. Paul's song is just too sugary & sappy. John's has more meaning and yet is very festive.

I agree that Happy Xmas (war is over) is more heartfelt and a huge part of who John was but I still like Wonderful Christmastime better. It's just more catchy and festive.

War Is Over is thoughtful and Christmassy.
Wonderful Christmastime is cheery and Christmassy.
I can't decide!!! I like them both!!!

McCartney composed the music for the perfect Christmas song but gave it another title-The man who found God on the Moon

I love them both so much! But i guess i like John's a little better cuz it's more meaningful to me. Paul's is till very cheery and catchy tune too! I actually have Paul's as part of my voice mail message.

It's impossible for me to pick one over the other. I love them both just about equally, in their different ways.

Wonderful Christmas is instantly recognisable when heard on pan pipes, just by the first 4 notes!

"Wonderful Christmastime" isn't that bad, really--but I've only heard it twice so far! ;-) Paul's is catchy, but I like John's because it has better lyrics and is also catchy. I think the Harlem Children's Choir part is cool.(George's New Year's song is repetitive, but I like it too because the melody is nice.)

Choosing? I cannot choose one over the other!
Sure, "Happy Christmas" might be the superior song, as far as quality is concerned, but "Wonderful Christmastime" makes me dance around like a goof. So, for me, it's about even.

I thought I've never heard Happy Xmas (War Is Over) before, but I heard it today and I was like "OH! I've heard this on the radio before!" I'm crazy.
