Where did this information come from and do you have any more details?

Someone in the know on the sh forum has mentioned it was going to be produced by Tommy Lipuma. Diana Krall was also mentioned.

Comfirms what's been discussed sometime ago, tho a release date back then was still far away.

It will be a combination of old standards with a few new songs.
Can't say I am to excited at the prospect of an standards album. Not really into jazz nor r&b. But I always applaud Paul's diversity and I quess this fits in.We will just have to wait and hear.

But still I am looking more forward to the pop album that appareantly is also in the pipeline for next year. And then there is still the ongoing remasters.

I really cannot figure why every aging (hey Paul!) artist must needs record a standards album! It's boooooring. And, unlike Legs, I do like a bit of jazz and R&B now and then. It's different to dig up some more or less forgotten old songs or those that never got a wide distribution once upon a time but the standards are everywhere. What's next? Karaoke?

Yes, "The russian album", "Run devil run", and a good number of one off duets and such... yes, that's all over a 31 years span, but it's strating to pill-up...

Interesting aspect though...

... if this, and a another release date holds, we'll wind up with brand new CD's by both Paul and Ringo next month ! *

* But wouldn't ut have been cool if, instead, it would have been ONE album by Paul and Ringo (each plays on all tracks, Ringo sings lead on, say, three or four tracks and maybe a duet) ?

Standards albums are dull. Listen to the originals and thats all you need. Also "My Valentine" is an awful name for the album.

Compared to music since about the mid 90's, standards are waaaay easier to listen to. Most new music sucks.......DONKEY!!

True, but I generally think Paul's own songs a cut above the average new music so can't see the need.

I agree, apart from the fact that there has been lots of great music released the past 20 years.

Anyway I have a listen first before I decide wheter I will buy it or not.
Haven't picked up "Ocean's Kingdom" yet, which I doubt I will.
