Question Did Paul write one for you?

Sometimes a song just really grabs you and you think, "wow, it's like the writer knew me, this describes my life." Have any of Paul's (solo or Beatles) songs done that to you?

I've felt like "Another Day" could've been written for me. Okay, So I was 9 when it was released, but when I was in my 20's, sometimes my life seemed to be that song. I worked and had a crush on a guy that didn't feel the same way about me. Parts of my life were really exciting then, but the daily stuff was, well just another day.

Lynn, that is so weird! I just took my CD player into the bathroom, put *Another Day* on repeat, and took a bath and washed my hair. And now, wrapped in a towel, sitting in my bedroom chair, this is the first post that I read

Well, I've always been convinced that "The Lovely Linda" was about me...

For the longest time I felt as if Paul was singing to me in regards to the song "Oo You." A lot of the words reminds me of me. For example, the bit where he sings "Sings like a black bird." That really reminds me of me because people often tell me that I do sing like an black bird, or sing like an angel. It's pretty much means the same thing.

Well... I always thought that "1985" was written for me only because I was born in 1985 lol.

LOL That one guy on the Imagine tape would be able to respond to this question quite easily. He'd say Jealous Guy. Hey, what was that guy's name again?

I can relate to Working Class Hero. And I say that John could have writen Oh My Love and Grow Old With Me for me ;) LOL

Now being serious, there are several songs that I can relate, depending on the mood. In My Life is definately one. So many memories, some are indeed gone (like Big Bear, LOL!!! hahaa!!! BIIIG one for my childhood, don't ask) and my best friend in the whole world who I love most (other than the Beatles) - Sarah. Now, that is only one of many.

LOL!! Ooops, sorry! This was a post for PAUL and his music and I sat writing most about John songs! LOL... I don't know, John's music just seems more deep and I can relate to them in that sense. I AM a deep person.

Then maybe you need to start a topic like this in the John forum.

Maybe Here There & Everywhere , it has always been a special song to me, it is such a life/loving song imo, I could always relate to the words, when I was a teenager, I dreamed love/life would be like the song....

I've never felt that a song was really written for me, but there quite a lot of songs where I've felt I could really relate to Paul. It's funny that so many of you have already mentioned it, but "Another Day" is a huge one for me. And not because of the whole being single issue, even though I am. It just was a sort of comforting song whenever I'm not getting along well with the people in my life who are important to me. Same goes for "For No One". When I was in high school and having huge drama (or what I thought was huge drama) going on in my life, I used to just sit on my bed and listen to songs like this, staring at Paul in my Beatles posters, crying and trying to comfort myself by saying "Paul would understand me," or saying "now I know how Paul felt". Sometimes I just felt so misunderstood, which I think Paul was at the end of the Beatles, and so he was very comforting to me even though I don't know the man. I know there are tons more songs that I listened to and felt that I related to him very well, but I'll just list those two for now.

In "Little Willow" I hear Paul is comforting me when I'm feeling down. The same with "Put It There" or "Hey Jude".

There's so many, but I can think about that ones right now.

Oh! And "Long Haired Lady"...I've always thought that the title was about me

The lyrics to "Dear Boy" just applied perfectly to an episode of my life from ages ago. It was really amazing.

Default Good gosh...

If there's a song that just... well, serves as inspiration for romance and fuels my imagination, it has to be "Junk". I don't know about the lyrics, but the melody alone immediately places me by a beach, during a sunset, white linen skirt on me and white linene pants on him (rolled up so the water can touch his ankles), pacing, kissing and holding hands, just two dark silhouettes in love... (And here's where the fan fiction writer begins to thrive, you see) A semi-shaven Paul, aged 28 or 29, longish black hair and cascade over cascade of black, curly lashes framing the hazel-grey reflections of gorgeous big eyes as they stare into mine...

Picture it??

So do I... Yay... now I need to go to the loo and splash some water on my face... 'scuse me...

Yeah... That song always makes me think something like "If I had known him then, if I had been a part of his life, that song would DEFINITELY be for me." I used it in a fan fic.

"For no one" places me in another very strong part of my life... There will be times when all the things she said will fill your head. You won't forget her. And in her eyes, you see nothing, no sign of love behind the tears cried for no one.

WOW!!!

Funny, Junk doesn't have that effect on me. In fact, the title says it all to me.Maybe it's because I'm male?

Flying pubs? Well, that in itself might account for the lack of emotion... (nudge nudge) :D

Good to see you, BTW.
